INEZ HARMON

Inez Harmon died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001, at ParkView Regional Medical Center. She was 80.

Mrs. Harmon was a native of Yazoo County and had lived in Vicksburg since 1974. She was a member of Goodrum Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, John L. Harmon of Vicksburg; two sons, Doug Harmon of Vicksburg and Malcolm Harmon of Hot Springs, Ark.; a sister, Ima Juanita Graham of Biloxi; four grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Glenwood Chapel with the Revs. Billy Brumfield and Tom Simmons officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 Wednesday night at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Dusty Wilson, Rick Harmon, Rusty Harmon, Pete Perry, Ed Perry and Dickey Harmon.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Johnson and Jerry Clark.

PATRICIA ANN STAMPLEY

FAYETTE Patricia Ann Stampley died Friday, Jan. 12, 2001, at Crawford G. Long Hospital in Atlanta. She was 44.

Mrs. Stampley was a secretary with Jefferson County Comprehensive Health Center in Fayette and a member of Hollywood Baptist Church in Fayette.

She was preceded in death by her parents, J.L. Thomas and Rosie Davis.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Stampley of Fayette; a stepson, Kenneth Ray Stampley Jr. of Fayette; her stepmother, Ella Mae Thomas of Fayette; three brothers, Joseph Thomas and Marrion Thomas, both of Fayette, and Jerry Thomas of Kennesaw, Ga.; four sisters, Mary Shaw, Cynthia Mackey, Shirley Thomas and Bobbie Thomas, all of Fayette; two stepbrothers, Charles Trevillion of Louisiana and Leroy Trevillion of Fayette; and other relatives.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Pine Grove Baptist Church in Fayette with the Rev. W. Chapman officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Fayette under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Jerry King, Andre Washington, Pernell Rowan, Troy Stacker, Leon Queen and Earl Monroe.

RUTH HALL YOUNG

Ruth Hall Young died Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, at Vicksburg Medical Center. She was 93.

A native and lifelong resident of Warren County, Mrs. Young was the daughter of the late A.K. and Nancy Elizabeth Westcott Hall. She was a graduate of Oak Ridge High School and Mississippi State College for Women. She was a homemaker and a member of the Daughters of the Confederacy and Vicksburg Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert A. Young; a son, S.E. Young; a daughter, Bobbie Thompson; and a grandson, George Thompson.

She is survived by a daughter, Margaret R. Rose of Vicksburg; a daughter-in-law, Jean Young of Natchez; seven grandchildren. 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; and other relatives including Edith Lane of Vicksburg and Elizabeth O’Tino of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home with Tony Lalli, pastor of Vicksburg Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Church of Christ Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 Wednesday night at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Thompson, Mark Fisher, Herbert Rose, Tim Fisher, Gene Rose and Gary Vasichko.

Honorary pallbearers will be the elders and deacons of Vicksburg Church of Christ.

NICK WILLIAMS

Nick “Sick Boy” Williams died Monday, Jan. 17, 2001, at Trace Haven Nursing Home. He was 87.

Mr. Williams was a native of Yazoo County and lived most of his life in Vicksburg. He was a farmer and construction worker. He was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Williams; and a daughter, Inez Jones.

He is survived by four sons, W.T. Williams of Vicksburg, and Lemonia Williams, Nick Williams Jr. and Leo Williams, all of Milwaukee, Wis.; six daughters, Claudette Haggard and Geraldine Williams, both of Vicksburg, Everjean Jackson and Ershaline Hodges, both of Columbus, Ga., and Shirley Williams and Catherine Barnes, both of Milwaukee; a brother, Wilson Williams of St. Louis, Mo.; 46 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren and other relatives, including his caregiver, Alberta Wheeler.
