ANNETTE HEARN
Annette Hearn died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001, in New Orleans. She was 59.
Mrs. Hearn was a former resident of Vicksburg and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Abner Hearn Sr.
She is survived by a son, Harrison Havard III of Sandusky, Ohio; four daughters, Rose Anderson, Debbie R. Havard, Regina Allen and Veronica Havard, all of New Orleans; her mother, Annie M. Hearn of Vicksburg; a brother, Abner W. Hearn Jr. of New Orleans; five sisters, Corrie A. Rouser of Pasadena, Calif., Vickie H. Espy of Clarksdale, Mamie King of Duarte, Calif., Tina Charles of Bethesda, Md., and Anna Burnett of Vicksburg; four grandchildren and other relatives.
Services were at noon Sunday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Charles Boykins officiating. Burial followed at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
JAMES B. MISKELLEY JR.
TUPELO James B. Miskelley Jr. died Friday, Jan. 19, 2001, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was 63.
Mr. Miskelley, a native of Ashland, Miss., was a civil engineer graduate of Mississippi State University and a professional engineer. He had a distinguished career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Mississippi Valley Division in Vicksburg, where he retired in 1996 as a supervisory civil engineer.
Since retirement, Mr. Miskelley lived in Tupelo, where he was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and served in several volunteer efforts including The Salvation Army Angel Tree program.
Mr. Miskelley was a member of the Tupelo Kiwanis Club and president of the Gumtree Woodworkers Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James B. Miskelley Sr. and Bessie Wammack Miskelley.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Adams Miskelley; a daughter, Andrea Beth Hill of Tupelo, and two sisters, Ruth Autry of Ashland and Phyllis Renfro of Germantown, Tenn.
Services were at 2 p.m. Sunday at Calvary Baptist Church. Burial followed at Tippah County Memorial Gardens in Ripley.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to The Salvation Army.
