JOHN TAYLOR BAILEY

John Taylor Bailey died Friday, Jan. 19, 2001, at ParkView Regional Medical Center. He was 82.

Mr. Bailey was born in the Possum Hollow, Oak Ridge community and was a lifelong resident of Vicksburg. He retired from United Cleaners in 1980.

Mr. Bailey was a musician and played with many local bands. He was a member of Living Waters Christian Fellowship on Culkin Road.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry Bailey and Lucy McBroom Bailey; his first wife, Gladys Inez Bounds Bailey; one granddaughter, Cynthia Denise Whitehead; one grandson, Timothy Wayne Sellers; two brothers, Aubrey Arnold Bailey and Ishmal Bailey; and one sister, Erma Grace Sherman Carr.

He is survived by his wife, Maxine W. Bailey; two sons, Jimmie D. Bailey of Vicksburg and Billy J. Bailey of Jackson; three daughters, Bonita Purvis, Sara Sellers and Patricia Beausoliel, all of Vicksburg; three stepsons, David Janes of Vicksburg, Ricky Janes and Daniel Janes, both of Council Bluffs, Iowa; two stepdaughters, Brenda Volker of Omaha, Neb., and Lorinda Freeman of Kansas City, Kan.; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and other friends and relatives.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Glenwood Funeral Home with pastor Doyle Moulder and the Rev. Rick McAllister officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Monday at Glenwood Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Sellers, Jimmy Bailey Jr., Randy Grey, Paul Sellers, Johnny Sellers, Merritt Aden and Jonathan Sellers.

Honorary pallbearers will be his granddaughters, Dinah Embry, Debi Aden, Terri Trussell, Deidre Bailey and Cathy Jordan.

Memorials may be made to Living Waters Christian Fellowship Building Fund.

FRANKIE PARKER

Frankie Parker died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001, at Sharkey-Issaquena Community Hospital. She was 81.

A homemaker, Mrs. Parker was a member of New Hope M.B. Church in Blanton, where she was on the mother board.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Parker, and her mother, Addie Davis.

She is survived by four sons, James Cubit and Joseph Cubit, both of Cary, Albert Cubit of Onward and William Cubit of Grace; three daughters, Alberta Cubit of Onward, Evelyn Cubit of Vicksburg and Della Willis; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at New Hope M.B. Church with the Rev. Roosevelt Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Cary Community Cemetery under the direction of W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.
