[01/31/01] Callaway ended St. Aloysius’ winning streak at 11 games, but Flashes coach Shirley Agostinelli was pleased to come away with a 3-3 tie.

Beau Theobald scored two goals and Michael Head tied it off a well-placed throw-in by Joey Lyons with about 15 minutes remaining.

“We only had five players at their regular positions … I’m glad we were able to tie it,” Agostinelli said.

Defenders Blake Warnock and Michael Engle were out sick, forcing Agostinelli to make several changes in a lineup that had won 11 in a row and the division championship.

“I think if we would have had those two, there’s no way we would have lost,” Agostinelli said.

The Flashes (11-1-1) host a first-round playoff game Saturday against a yet-to-be-determined opponent. Game-time has not been decided.

“They were really fast,” Agostinelli said of Callaway (10-3), which led 3-2 at the half.

St. Al will be at Brookhaven tonight for its final regular-season game.
