CATHERINE ANDERSON

PORT GIBSON Catherine Anderson died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2001, at ParkView Regional Medical Center. She was 74.

Mrs. Anderson was a member and mother of Greater St. Mark M.B. Church and a member of Port Herron No. 166A Order of Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by a son, Willie Moore; a sister, Lillie Tarleton; and four brothers, Johnny Davis, Lawrence Davis, Robert Davis and Charles Davis.

She is survived by her husband, Arthur Levi Anderson of Port Gibson; four sons, Freddie Moore and Vernon Moore, both of Hermanville and Horace Moore and Johnny Moore Jr., both of Port Gibson; five daughters Linda Rose Wells and Carrie Dean Braxton, both of Port Gibson, Marie Moore of New Orleans and Hortense Moore and Carolyn Smith, both of Vicksburg; five brothers Louis Davis of Hermanville, Willie Davis and Frank Davis Jr., both of Waukegan, Ill., Green Lee Davis of Harvey, Ill. and George Davis of Knoxville, Tenn.; 15 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and other relatives, including Jenna V. Davis of Harvey, La.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Greater St. Mark M.B. Church in Port Gibson with the Rev. Leon Howard officiating.

Visitation will be from 1 until 6 Friday night at Thompson Funeral Home in Port Gibson and from noon until the service Saturday at the church.

ALICE KING

ANGUILLA Alice King died Friday, Feb. 2, 2001, at Sharkey-Issaquena Community Hospital in Rolling Fork. She was 75.

Miss King is survived by two sisters, Luella Carter of Chicago and Clazella Cunningham of Anguilla.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Rose Hill M.B. Church in Anguilla. Burial will follow at Anguilla Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Home.

LINNIE MAE LLOYD LENOIR

Linnie Mae Lloyd Lenoir died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2001, at Vicksburg Medical Center. She was 51.

A housewife and homemaker, Mrs. Lenoir was a native of Hinds County. She was a member of Christian Home No. 2 M.B. Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie B. Fletcher and Geraldine Burse.

She is survived by her husband, Abney Lamar Lenoir; two sons, Marco Lloyd and William Lloyd, both of Vicksburg; three daughters, Cynthia Lewis, Lillie Lloyd and Ida Lloyd, all of Vicksburg; five sisters, Dorothy Neal, Lillie Lloyd, Shirley Lloyd and Helen Mace, all of Vicksburg, and Lacey Burse of Aurora, Ill.; three brothers, Curtis Lloyd and Percy Lloyd, both of Vicksburg, and Lamar Lloyd of Chicago; her maternal grandmother, Alberta Burse of Clinton; four grandchildren; and other relatives.

ALONZO MOODY

NASHVILLE Memorial services for Alonzo Moody will be at 2 p.m. Feb. 16 at Tennessee State University in Nashville.

Mr. Moody died Friday, Feb. 2, 2001, at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. He was 56.

Mr. Moody was an instructor in language, literature and philosophy at Tennessee State University. He was a member of Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Humphrey “Son” Moody and Ruby Smith Moody; a sister, Louise Moody; and two brothers, Rufus Moody and Berdon Moody.

He is survived by five brothers, John W. Moody of Cleveland, Ohio, Humphrey “Judge” Moody of Memphis, Leon Moody and Reuben J. Moody, both of Canton, and John T. Moody of Redwood; five sisters, Ruth Byrdsong of Nashville, Mary B. Sutton, Laura Moody and Nettie Doss, all of Canton, and Lula M. Burks of Edwards; and other relatives including Laura B. Henderson of Redwood, Callie Haley, Earnestine Sanders and Ernest Wells, all of Greenville.
