ARY C. PHILLIPS

SALIDA, Calif. Ary C. Phillips died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2001, at his home in Salida. He was 66.

Mr. Phillips was born in Greenville, Miss., and grew up in Vicksburg. He was an author and for the past 17 years had been a resident of Colorado.

Survivors include two brothers, Gerald C. Phillips of Gulfport, Miss., and C. Alton Phillips of Madison, Miss.; and eight nieces and nephews.

Private cremation services were held.

CLARA B. THOMPSON

Clara B. Thompson died Monday, Feb. 12, 2001, at Rankin County Medical Center. She was 82.

Mrs. Thompson and her husband were dairy farmers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Thompson.

She is survived by three daughters, Martha Mae Thompson of Ridgeland and Mary Ann Gaines and Sandra Kay Culverhouse, both of Pearl; a brother, Lawrence B. Storey Jr. of Vicksburg; two sisters, Frances Lindigrin of Vicksburg and Mattie Mae Riley of Prentiss; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Donnie Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 Wednesday night at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Elmer Keller, Darren Keller, Devin Keller, Michael Curtis, Gene Curtis and Stephen Gaines.

Honorary pallbearers will be Stanley Porter, Bessie Childress, Grady Cowen, Jimmie Brogden, Bobbie Brogden, David Gaines, James Gaines, Brandon Johnston, Otis Sanders and Leroy Sanders.

BOBBIE NEAL WINDHAM

Bobbie Neal Windham died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2001, at Vicksburg Medical Center. She was 74.

Born in Lamar County, Mrs. Windham had lived in Vicksburg for the past 60 years. She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hulon and Margaret Avery Bounds; a brother, Billy Rome Bounds and a sister, Evelyon B. Smith.

She is survived by her husband, William Windham of Vicksburg; a daughter, Judy Windham Hasty of Vicksburg; four sons, Fred Windham of Monroe, Michael Windham and Ronald Windham, both of Vicksburg, and Phillip Windham of Baton Rouge; a sister, Gloria Napier of Hattiesburg; three brothers, James Bounds of Bossier City, Wayne Bounds of London, England, and Felix Bounds of Vicksburg; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie O’Quinn officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 Wednesday night at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Jason Windham, Scott Windham, Mike Windham, Don Windham, Billy McMullen, Jonathan Windham, Rob Michaels and Dustin Windham.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Paul Pierce, Dr. Abdul Bahro, Joey Hasty, Mike McKissack and Mike Evans.

ELEEN BLANCHARD WINDHAM

TALLULAH Eleen Blanchard Windham died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2001, at ParkView Regional Medical Center. She was 92.

Born in Crowville, La., Mrs. Windham lived in Georgetown, S.C., before returning to Madison Parish in 1948. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church where she was a teacher of the Faithful Workers Sunday school class.

She was preceded in death by her husband, W.C. Windham; her parents, Charles and Mattie Blanchard; three brothers and four sisters.

She is survived by a son, William A. Windham of Vicksburg; three brothers, Jack Blanchard of Vicksburg, Marion Blanchard of Jennings, La., and John Blanchard of Mansfield, La.; two sisters, Mary Nettles of Tallulah and Eva Beckett of Norman, Okla.; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Tallulah with the Revs. John W. Rushing and Fred Fulton officiating. Burial will follow at Delhi Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 Wednesday night at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Bob Goza, Jeb Blanchard, James Blanchard, Louis B. “Bubba” Nettles, Mac Blanchard and Don Miller.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Tom Weeks, Rowdy Nosser and Bill Querrey.
