St. Al squads fall in tourney

[02/14/01] The St. Aloysius Lady Flashes battled back from an early deficit to take a lead late Tuesday night against West Lincoln in the Division 7-1A tournament, but a 10-0 run by the Lady Bears handed St. Al a 63-50 loss.

Kristen Patrick led St. Al (12-13) with 31 points and Mollie Richards added 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Dana King led West Lincoln with 18 points and hit seven of eight free throws in the fourth quarter, while Hannah Roberts had 16 points and hit a pair of 3-pointers to trigger the run.

(B) St. Joe 65, St. Al 54

St. Al cut a 13-point halftime deficit to four midway through the third quarter, but ran out of gas and was eliminated by the Bruins.

Clay Simmons led St. Al (7-18) with 13 points, Justin Williams added 11 and Lee Wiles had 11 points and nine rebounds. Robert Triplett had a game-high 23 points for St. Joe.
