RICHARD D. EVANS JR.

Services for Richard D. “R.D.” “Man” Evans Jr. will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home with the Rev. Casey Fisher officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Evans died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2001, at his home. He was 52.

He was a logger and a member of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard D. Evans Sr.; three brothers, James Evans, Albert Evans and Leroy Evans; his maternal grandparents, Prentis Coleman and Mary Coleman; and his paternal grandparents, Lynch Evans and Melaine Evans.

He is survived by four sons, Edric Ron Evans, James Charles Carson and Terry Levon Carson, all of Vicksburg, and Richard Darnell Evans of Minneapolis, Minn.; six daughters, Lori Jean Dumas, Robbie Dell Evans and Willie Mae Evans, all of Minneapolis, and Clara Anita Jenkins, Linda Faye Hill and Veronica Ann Butler, all of Vicksburg; his mother, Ida Mae Evans; two brothers, John L. Evans and Tommy L. Evans, both of Vicksburg; five sisters, Willie Evans Harder, Ludella Shields, Mary Evans Carson, Edna Evans Davis and Bobbie Evans, all of Vicksburg; 13 grandchildren and other relatives including the Coleman family of Vicksburg and the Myles and Evans families of Utica.

ROBERT JOSEPH FLETCHER

Robert Joseph Fletcher, infant son of Bradley H. and Elizabeth W. Fletcher of Vicksburg, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2001, at Women’s Hospital in Flowood.

Robert was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Joe L. Warbington.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Anna Elizabeth Fletcher of Vicksburg; his maternal grandmother, Edwina Warbington of Rolling Fork; his maternal great-grandmother, Willie Mae Davis of Rolling Fork; his paternal grandparents, Bobby and Glenda Fletcher of Vicksburg; and his paternal great-grandmother, Evelyn L. Fletcher of Cape Coral, Fla.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Eric Thomas officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 9 a.m. until the service at the funeral home.

ROSE TUCCIO GORDON

Rose Tuccio Gordon died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2001, at ParkView Regional Medical Center. She was 88.

Mrs. Gordon was a lifelong resident of Vicksburg. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Mary Anzalone Tuccio, and her husband, Horace Gordon.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Cynthia Gordon of Mansfield, Texas; a brother, Joe Tuccio Sr. of Vicksburg; two granddaughters, Sarah Gordon and Rebecca Gordon, both of Mansfield; nieces; nephews; and other relatives.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home with the Rev. James O’Riordan officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 Thursday night at the funeral home with Rosary at 6:30.

Pallbearers will be Joe Tuccio Jr., David Tuccio, Jack Grogan, Sam Grogan, Paul E. Rachal and Jimmy Brooks.

Memorials may be made to St. Michael Catholic Church, 100 St. Michael Place, Vicksburg 39180.

SUSIE WINSTON HUNTER

Susie Winston Hunter died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2001, at her home. She was 89.

Mrs. Hunter was a homemaker and a member of Holly Grove M.B. Church where she was a member of the mother board.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Voul Hunter; her parents, George and Rachel Winston; two brothers, I.L. Winston and Jim Watson; and two sisters, Laura Winston and Emma Winston.

She is survived by a son, John W. Hunter of Vicksburg; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
