DONALD BAXTER

Donald Baxter died Monday, Feb. 26, 2001, at ParkView Regional Medical Center. He was 67.

A native and lifelong resident of Vicksburg, Mrs. Baxter was the son of the late Ivy Thomas and Annie Cousins Baxter. He was a mechanic for the International Union of Operating Engineers in Jackson, retiring after 30 years. He was a member of the Vicksburg Seventh Day Adventist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Bertha McAvoy and Mary Ellen Baxter.

He is survived by his wife, Frances L. Baxter of Vicksburg; a daughter, Sandra B. Kolb of Fort Worth, Texas; two sons, Billy Baxter of Wallingford, Conn., and David Baxter of Vicksburg; four stepsons, Harry Cousins Jr. of Mountain Home, Ark., and Kenneth Hearon Jr. Stanley Hearon and Walter Hearon, all of Vicksburg; three stepdaughters, Nancy Kirby of Halifax, Mass., Patricia Mote of Rush City, Minn., and Peggy Smith of Natchez; four sisters, Marie Hill of Vicksburg, Louis Caroll of Lillian, Ala., and Joyce Pickett and Rose Etta Stachow, both of Pensacola; 17 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and other relatives.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home with Pastor Billy Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home. The family will receive friends at Seventh Day Adventist Church following burial.

WILLIAM THOMAS BROWN

Services for William Thomas Brown were at 11 a.m. today at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Mr. Brown died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2001, at Vicksburg Medical Center. He was 70.

He was a member of Grove Street M.B. Church.

He is survived by his wife, Irene Grady Brown of Vicksburg; a brother, Dutch Sparks of Queens, N.Y.; and other relatives.

EUGENE HAYNES

Services for Eugene Haynes will be at noon Thursday at Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Haynes died Friday, Feb. 23, 2001, at Madison Parish Hospital in Tallulah. He was 97.

He was a former Vicksburg resident who had lived in Tallulah for 10 years.

He is survived by one son, Willie Haynes of Mansfield, Ohio; one daughter, Gladys Johnson of Memphis; one sister, Eula Mae Haynes of Lula; 11 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives.
