“We just couldn’t get sufficient hitting in key situations,” Vicksburg coach Josh Harper said. “We hit the ball, just not far enough.”

Vicksburg pulled to within two, 3-1, in the top of the fifth, but Lawrence County hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the inning to put the game away.

The Missy Gators are scheduled to play a doubleheader Thursday at Franklin County. They will return home Friday to face Northwest Rankin.
