CECIL H. DEMENT

Cecil H. Dement died Thursday, March 8, 2001, at Vicksburg Medical Center. He was 62.

Mr. Dement was a native of Wayne County and a resident of Vicksburg for 50 years.

He was a member of the Highland Masonic Lodge and a member of the Wayside Baptist Church.

Mr. Dement is survived by his wife, Shirley Rust Dement of Vicksburg; four sons, Mark Dement, Marty Dement, Monty Dement and Matthew Dement, all of Vicksburg; his mother, Emma Gertrude Dement of Yazoo City; two brothers, James Dement of Utica and Howard Dement of Vicksburg; four sisters, Nettie Ryan of Satartia, Marjorie Dorrell of Yazoo City, and Audrey James and Emma Tennant, both of Vicksburg; and five grandchildren.

Services were Monday at 11 a.m. at Wayside Baptist Church with the Revs. Tony Monk and Larry Haggard officiating. Burial followed in the Wayside Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Vernon Martin, Pat Parker, Jack Sturgis, Bobby Purvis, Jimmy Cowart and Franklin Hicks.

Honorary pallbearers were members of Wayside Baptist Church.
