HENRIETTA THOMAS WILLIS

Services for Henrietta Thomas Willis were at 1 p.m. Saturday at King David M.B. Church No. 1. Burial followed in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Willis died Monday, March 12, 2001, at Vicksburg Medical Center. She was 85.

Mrs. Willis was a member of King David M.B. Church No. 1, St. Mary Elizabeth Chapter OES and Christian Home Society No. 14.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sandy Willis; her parents, Weatherly and Mary E. Thomas; and two brothers, Abe L. Thomas and Antonio Davis.

She is survived by a sister, Lucille Harris of Chicago; one nephew, Jerry Lee Harris of Chicago; two nieces, Ethel Franklin and Althea Thomas, both of Vicksburg; and other relatives.

Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

ANGELA KAY BUFKIN

SIBLEY, La. Angela Kay Bufkin died Wednesday, March 14, 2001, as the result of an automobile accident in Sibley, La. She was 39.

Ms. Bufkin was born in Hazlehurst and had lived in Sibley for the past 14 years. She worked as a waitress.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Jackqin Young Bufkin.

She is survived by a son, Devin Blaine Bufkin of Sibley; a daughter, Lacy Marie Gerbine of Sibley; her father, James D. Bufkin of Bossier City, La.; and a brother, James Allen Bufkin of Ringo, La.

Services were at 2 p.m. Saturday at Glenwood Funeral Home in Utica with the Rev. John Ed Snell officiating. Burial followed at Salem Cemetery in Hinds County.

Pallbearers were Larry Townsen, Clark Denley, Ronnie Bufkin, Don Bufkin, Brad Oberhousen, Michael Bufkin and Ricky Howell.

Honorary pallbearer was Jessie Bufkin.

BILLY COOK

Billy Cook died Friday, March 16, 2001, at Vicksburg Medical Center. He was 47.

A native of Philadelphia, Mr. Cook was a graduate of Leake Academy and East Central Junior College. He had been employed with the Corps of Engineers since 1973 as an engineering technician. He was a member of Porters Chapel United Methodist Church.

He is survived by Melanie Schaffer of Vicksburg; his parents, James and Fannie Ruth Cook of Philadelphia; two brothers, Pete Cook of Gautier and Glynn Cook of Philadelphia; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Services were at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Biedenharn officiating. Burial followed at Cook’s Chapel Cemetery in Philadelphia.

Pallbearers were Brent Cook, Jamie Eakes, Brock Cook, Jason Sykes, Stacy Cook and Andy Freeney.

Honorary pallbearers were Dane Gray, Robert Barnett, Lamar Eakes, Dr. Paul Pierce, Bette McBroom and the nurses of the second floor east of Vicksburg Medical Center.
