LOUISE BINGHAM

Louise Bingham died Wednesday, March 21, 2001, at Vicksburg Medical Center. She was 54.

Mrs. Bingham was a member of the North Vicksburg congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She worked as a bus driver for the Vicksburg-Warren School District.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Emma Lucille Savage and Lee Calvin Savage; two brothers, Melvin Savage and Sammie Savage; and two sisters, Martha Savage Jones and Rosie Savage Ward.

Survivors include her husband, Johnnie Woods of Vicksburg; three sons, Patrick Bingham Jr. of North Ridge, Calif., and Jonathan Dedontrez Woods and Gerald Jamaal Woods, both of Vicksburg; a daughter, Kendra Michelle Bingham of Vicksburg; three brothers, Albert Savage of Lima, Ohio, David Savage of Blue Hill and Chester Savage of Tillman; five sisters, Katie Savage and Mary Savage, both of Vicksburg, Jean Savage of Lima and Mildred Savage and Seebell Savage, both of Blue Hill; and other relatives and friends.

ELBERT H. CASE

Elbert H. Case died Wednesday, March 21, 2001, at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Jackson. He was 80.

A native of Arcadia, La., Mr. Case had been a resident of Vicksburg for the past 54 years. He retired from Waterways Experiment Station. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by a wife, Virginia Case.

He is survived by his wife, Jean S. Case of Vicksburg; two sons, Lester Case of Biloxi and Denny Case of Fort Worth; two daughters, Patty Loy and Yvonne Pennington, both of Vicksburg; a sister, Juanita Williamson of Vicksburg; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Carl Barnes officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Tracy Case, Charles Williamson, Joel Williamson, Ronnie Williamson, Tom Wallace and Henry Wallace.

GLADYS P. DOYLE

NEWELLTON Gladys P. Doyle died Thursday, March 22, 2001, at Olive Branch Senior Care Center in Tallulah. She was 97.

Born in Scott County, Ark., Mrs. Doyle lived in Tensas Parish for 67 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Newellton Union Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Doyle; a son, Clyde Dean Doyle; a daughter, Edna Gunter; three grandsons, Robert Gunter, Robert Michael Doyle and Don Wade Doyle; five brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by two daughters, Betty Sue Pilkinton of Bossier City and Peggy Doyle Waddill of The Bluffs, La.; four sons, James F. Doyle, Bobby Gene Doyle and Louie A. Doyle, all of Newellton, and Victor Ronald Doyle of Jackson; a sister, Ruby Mae Glascock of Little Rock; two brothers, George Leon Plummer of Tacoma, Wash., and Leonard Lowell Plummer of Kansas City, Kan.; 17 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Newellton Union Church with the Revs. Clyde Webber and J. Fulton McGraw officiating. Burial will follow at Legion Memorial Cemetery in Newellton under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Alan Doyle, Kenneth Doyle, Tommy Pilkinton, Steven Doyle, David Doyle, Jimmy Waddill, Randy Waddill and Jeff Hollenshead.

DORIS NIVEN GESSLER

YAZOO CITY Doris Niven Gessler died Thursday, March 22, 2001, at Vicksburg Medical Center. She was 81.

Mrs. Gessler was a retired secretary with Valley Dry Goods. She was a member of Midway Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnson Gessler; and her parents, William Wallace Niven and Annie Mae Broadway.

She is survived by three sons, Francis Guy Jr of Linden, Ala., Wallace Guy of Vicksburg and J.B. Gessler of Hartwood, Miss.; two daughters, Ruth Spicer of Monticello and Nancy Carson of Raymond; a sister, Ruby N. Howell of Edwards; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and other relatives.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Stricklin-King Funeral Home in Yazoo City with the Rev. Ricky Dorrell officiating. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Yazoo City.

Visitation will be from noon Saturday until the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Randy Hamm, Kyle A. Greenlee, Mike Bartlett, James P. Lang, Jimmy Thompson and Sammy Niven Sr.

DIVA RENA HENDERSON

Diva Rena Henderson, infant daughter of David and Rena Watson Henderson of Vicksburg, died Wednesday, March 21, 2001, at ParkView Regional Medical Center.

In addition to her parents, Diva is survived by two brothers, Eric Watson Henderson and David Lee Henderson, both of Vicksburg; her maternal grandparents, Patricia W. Kinnard and Leroy Watson, both of Vicksburg; her paternal grandparents, Johnnie Henderson Sr. and Oreather Gillum Henderson, both of Vicksburg.

Services were Friday at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.
