Eagles blast Briarfield, 16-1

[03/28/01] Kyle Ehrhardt silenced Briarfield Academy’s bats Tuesday night, but Porters Chapel’s bats did plenty of talking.

Ehrhardt and T.J. Smith had three hits, and Ehrhardt threw a five-inning one-hitter to lead PCA (11-4, 3-0 Conference 7-A) to a 16-1 win.

“We needed to hit the ball,” PCA coach Randy Wright said.

Smith had a home run and three RBIs, while Ehrhardt was 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

Heath Smith, Trey White, Clayton Hensley and Andrew Embry added two hits apiece for the Eagles. White also had four RBIs, while Embry had three.

Briarfield’s Jarrod Love (2-1) struck out seven and walked three.
