More than 600 athletes and volunteers particpated in the meet, and 33 athletes advanced to the state meet at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi May 11-13. Some of the groups that volunteered were the Kiwanis Club, the Civitans, VHS Key Club, Vicksburg Home School Christian Educators Association, VHS ROTC, the Vicksburg Amateur Radio Club, the Warren Central Art Club, City Ambulance Service, and a child care class from Hinds Community College.
