City of Vicksburg Street Department worker Skipper Whittington, left, and MMC Materials Inc. worker Johnny Kenney pour concrete into a 2-foot pothole on the south side of the railroad bridge on Old Highway 27 Monday morning. The pothole was caused by water seeping beneath the bridge, Street Superintendent Tommy Day said. Old Highway 27 was to be closed from Clay to North Frontage Road for repairs until mid-afternoon.
