McKINNIE
TALLULAH Charles R. McKinnie died Sunday, May 6, 2001, at Madison Parish Hospital. He was 64.
Born in Hampton, Ark., Mr. McKinnie had lived in Tallulah for over 50 years. He was a licensed funeral director and embalmer. He was a maintenance supervisor for Madison Parish Hospital in Tallulah. He was a member of Tallulah Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Vada Warner McKinnie of Tallulah; a daughter, Cynthia Mathis of Monroe; a sister, Mary Jo Gigilio of Farmerville, La.; two grandsons, Brian McKinnie Mathis and Eric Christopher Mathis, both of Monroe; and other relatives.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Tallulah with the Rev. John Rushing officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Brian Mathis, Eric Mathis, Sonny Copes, Danny Bittle, David Weeks and Robert Jobe.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. L.P. Neumann, Dr. T.A. Neumann, Dr. Lawrence Chenier, Dr. Donald Perry, Dr. Raymond Polquit and employees of Glenwood Funeral Home.
LULA HAYES WILLIAMS
Services for Lula Hayes Williams will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home with the Rev. Jonathan Grant officiating. Burial will follow at Beulah Cemetery.
Mrs. Williams died Saturday, May 5, 2001, at the Vicksburg Convalescent Home. She was 89.
Mrs. Williams was a retired educator in the Vicksburg-Warren County School District and a member of King Solomon M.B. Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Ruth Bailey Hayes; three brothers, Ernest Hayes, Frank Hayes, and Wilbert Hayes Sr.; and four sisters, Alberta Regan, Arvel Flaggs, Margaret Tillman and Alma Garner.
Mrs. Williams is survived by a brother, Jessie Hayes of Vicksburg; and a sister, Eva Milton of Rolla, Mo.; nieces; nephews; and other relatives, including Alice Moseley of Vicksburg.
