THOMAS LEE DUDLEY

CLINTON Thomas Lee Dudley died Monday, May 7, 2001, at his home in Clinton. He was 69.

A native of Vicksburg, Mr. Dudley was a retired employee of BellSouth. He was a member of the 31st Dixie Division and a veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Church of Christ of Clinton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Leonard and Olive Downey Dudley.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Hoxie Dudley of Clinton; three sons, Charles L. Dudley of San Antonio, Thomas Dudley Jr. of Canton and Daniel R. Dudley of Clinton; two daughters, Cynthia D. Spruill of Richland and Jean D. Hill of Brandon; two sisters, Alma “Peggy” Dudley and Mary D. Harris, both of Vicksburg; a brother, Charles Fred Dudley of Gonzales, La.; and 11 grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Lakewood Memorial Park with the Rev. Ed. Byron officiating under the direction of Lakewood Funeral Home.

RALPH L. FORE

TALLULAH Ralph L. Fore died Sunday, May 6, 2001, at Olive Branch Senior Care Center. He was 71.

Born in Grayson, La., Mr. Fore had lived in Tallulah for 45 years. He was an Air Force veteran of Korea. He was a graduate of Louisiana Polytechnic Institute with a bachelor of science degree. He was employed with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Farmers Home Administration for 29 years. He was also employed with Tallulah State Bank and Trust Company.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Fore of Tallulah; two sons, Gregory Lee Fore of Tallulah and Rory Brian Fore of Gonzales, La.; a daughter, Julie Fore Millet of Prairieville, La.; his mother, Maudie D. Fore of West Monroe; two brothers, Troy Fore of Columbia and Roy Fore of Alexandria; three sisters, Alma Bauman of Sterlington, La., and Mary Ann Fore and Marty Shell, both of West Monroe; and four grandchildren.

Services will be at 6 tonight at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah and 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mount Rose Cemetery in Grayson with the Rev. John Rushing officiating under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah.

Visitation will follow the service tonight.

Pallbearers will be A.J. Douglas, Howard Strebeck, Curtis Richardson, Harold Bauman, David Shell and Roy Dean Hodges.

Honorary pallbearers will be G.W. Douglas, Don Burns and Cliff Burns.

RAYMOND GLOEDE

TALLULAH Raymond Gloede died Friday, May 4, 2001, at his home in Tallulah. He was 84.

Mr. Gloede was born in Evanston, Ill. He was the retired owner of a lawn equipment sales and service business. He was a veteran of World War II having served as a platoon sergeant in the Amphibious Recon Battalion, U.S. Marine Corps. He was awarded the Silver Star, Navy Unit Commendation and other medals during the Pacific Campaign. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Tallulah.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred Haywood Gloede of Tallulah; a stepdaughter, Katherine H. Daigle of Oxford; three stepsons, Richard G. Haywood of Baton Rouge, James D. Haywood of Alexandria and Thomas W. Haywood of Houston, Texas; a sister, Peggy Townsend of Glenview, lll.; 11 grandchildren and other relatives.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Episcopal Church in Tallulah with the Rev. Bill Echols officiating under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home.

DORA N. GRIFFITH

Dora N. “Dodie” Griffith died Sunday, May 6, 2001, at Rankin Medical Center. She was 87.

Mrs. Griffith was a native of Richland View, Ark., and had lived in Vicksburg most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Hearld Clinton and Fannie Lee Pitzer Brown. She was of the Methodist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Exo Griffith; a son, Glenn Griffith; and two sisters, Della Sadler and Stella Ward.

She is survived by a son, Walter Griffith Sr. of Brandon; and two daughters-in-law, Vera Griffith of Brandon and Elaine Griffith of Vicksburg; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and other relatives.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Herron, pastor of Bradley Chapel United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the service Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Walter Griffith Jr., Joseph A. Griffith, Richard Griffith, Stevens Griffith, Kenneth McMaster and Keith Johnson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Douglas Stevens, Jimmy Ward, Frank Sadler Jr., Jesse Anderson, Billy Stevens, Cecil Pettway, Max Evans, Jack Pace, Melvin Griffith, Gary Pettway, Kimble Pugh, Dan Ward and Keith Pettway.

GEORGE R. HALL JR.

Services for George R. Hall Jr. were Saturday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Brian Ivey officiating. Burial was at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Hall died Wednesday, May 2, 2001, at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola, Fla. He was 41.

Born in Vicksburg, Mr. Hall had lived in Milton, Fla., for the past two months. He worked in construction as a driver. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by a daughter, Jean Marie Hall of Clinton; his mother, Bettye Antoine of Vicksburg; his father, George R. Hall Sr. of Vicksburg; and three sisters, Deborah Forrestal of Dallas, Janet Fernandez of Milton and Paulette Hodges of Pensacola, Fla.

Pallbearers were Doyle Lee, Scott Thornton, Paul Rachal, Dr. Greg Carr, Jason Massey and Chris Massey.

Honorary pallbearers will be Buddy Rowland, Robert Hall, James Hall, Dan Tipton and Charlie Hudson.

Memorials may be made to the Child Abuse Prevention Center, Children’s Shelter or a favorite charity.
