EDITH M. GODWIN

Edith M. Godwin died Wednesday, May 9, 2001, at her home. She was 76.

A native of Courtland, Mrs. Godwin was the daughter of the late Oliver A. and Sarah Edwards McMullen. She retired from Waterways Experiment Station as an administrative officer with more than 25 years of service. She was associated with the Vicksburg Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and a member of the Women’s Missionary Union.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wylie C. Godwin; and three brothers, O’Neil McMullen, Leon McMullen and Clifton McMullen.

She is survived by two sons, Bobby Godwin and Ray Godwin, both of Vicksburg; two brothers, Edward McMullen and Albert McMullen, both of Vicksburg; three grandchildren, Bridgette Godwin, Heather Godwin and Josh Godwin, all of Vicksburg; and other relatives, including Terry Godwin of Vicksburg.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home with the Rev. Mickey Bounds officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Charles Antoine, Butch McMullen, Jason Barnes, Terry Antoine, Bill McMullen, Tommy Antoine, Ricky McMullen and Wiley Barnes.

Honorary pallbearers will be Glen Waters, the Rev. Sam Prewitt, Wayne Smith, Bob Piazza, Jack Leist, Bill Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Trahan, Mr. and Mrs. James Beaube and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Crow.

AYNSLEY CAROL GUEST

Aynsley Carol Guest, infant daughter of Sid and Jonalyn Wallace Guest of Vicksburg, died Tuesday, May 8, 2001, at Baptist Hospital in Jackson.

Aynsley was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Frank Guest.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by four brothers, Sidney Guest II, Kristopher Guest and Joseph Guest, all of Greenville, and Tyler Dement of Vicksburg; two sisters, Brooke Guest and Madisyn Guest, both of Vicksburg; her maternal grandmother, Carrie Guest of Vicksburg; her paternal grandparents, John Wallace and Carline Wallace, both of Vicksburg, and Adalyn and Harry Hinton of Petal; and her paternal great-grandmother, Grace Koen of Hattiesburg.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Green Acres Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Ray Spence officiating under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.

HELEN T. REID

BALTIMORE Helen Thomas Reid died Friday, May 4, 2001, at St. Joseph Hospital. She was 74.

A native of Johnstown, Pa., Mrs. Reid was retired from the Baltimore County school system, where she worked for 21 years as an elementary school librarian.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Julia Thomas, and a brother, Robert Thomas.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Wallace Reid of Baltimore; a brother, Richard Thomas of Ocala, Fla.; two daughters, Kerry A. Reid of Eastham, Mass., and Julie L. Reid of Baltimore; two sons, Michael C. Reid of Baltimore County and W. Bruce Reid of Vicksburg; and three grandchildren, including Colin Reid and Claire Reid of Vicksburg.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mitchell-Wiedefeld Home Inc.
