BARBARA T. JACOBS

PEARL Barbara T. Jacobs died Saturday, May 26, 2001, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center. She was 56.

Mrs. Jacobs, a Vicksburg resident, retired from BellSouth after 32 years. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Jacobs of Pearl; her parents, John and Elsie Thomas of Vicksburg; and her grandparents, Henry and Julia Beaube Sr. of Vicksburg.

She is survived by one son, Billy B. Jacobs Jr. of Pearl; one daughter, Sandra Nunez of Pearl; one sister, Mary L. Thomas of Vicksburg; and two grandchildren, Alanna Nunez and Daniel Nunez.

Services were at 2 p.m. Sunday at Baldwin-Lee Pearl Chapel with the Rev. Lanse Foster of Apostolic Faith Church officiating.

HATTIE McGEE LIGHTFOOT

Hattie McGee Lightfoot died Wednesday, May 23, 2001, at Shady Lawn Nursing Home. She was 83.

A native of Issaquena County, Mrs. Lightfoot was a retired cook. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cornelius Lightfoot; and a sister, Pearl Smith of Florida.

She is survived by two sons, Woodrow McGee and James McGee, both of Ohio; one aunt, Florence Thomas of St. Louis, Mo.; four cousins, Lee Thelma Whiten, Ophelia Caldwell and Freddie Thomas, all of Vicksburg, and George Long of Utica; and other relatives.

Services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Eddie Lane officiating.
