HERMANVILLE Elizabeth “Lizzie” McClure died Friday, May 25, 2001, at Claiborne County Nursing Home. She was 85.

Miss McClure was a member of New Mount Olive Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Arelia McClure; four brothers, Fred Sanders, John McCullen, Miller McClure and R.W. McClure; and two sisters, Daisy McClure and Allie White.

Survivors include nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mountro Grove M.B. Church in Hermanville with the Revs. Horace McBride and Frank Curtis officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 until 7 p.m. Friday at Thompson Funeral Home in Port Gibson and from 1 p.m. until the service Saturday at the church.

JOHNSON ALLEN NYE

FAIRFIELD, Calif. Memorial service for Johnson Allen Nye will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at First Presbyterian Church.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the service Sunday at the church’s Ward Hall.

Mr. Nye died Friday, May 18, 2001, in Fairfield, Calif. He was 81.

A retired lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Air Force, Mr. Nye lived in Vicksburg for 25 years before moving to Fairfield in 2000.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Davis Nye of Fairfield; a daughter, Meredith Moran of San Jose, Calif., and two grandsons, Brady Moran and Scott Moran.

DELIA BELL KEMP SAVAGE

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. Services for Delia Bell Kemp Savage, formerly of Vicksburg, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Cool Springs M.B. Church with the Rev. Byron Maxwell officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Savage died Sunday, May 27, 2001, in Northridge, Calif. She was 88.

Mrs. Savage was a retired cook and a member of Cool Springs M.B. Church. She was a member of Cool Springs Burial Society and Order of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Savage; her parents, Simon Kemp Sr. and Gussie Miller Kemp; three brothers, John Kemp, Leroy Kemp and Simon Kemp; and three sisters, Adell Kemp, Lillian Williams and Willie Mae Davis.

Survivors include two sons, Ervin A. Savage of Northridge and Jessie Savage Jr. of San Jose, Calif.; two daughters, LaVerne S. Mack of San Jose and Erma Jean Wilson of Hollandale; a brother, Aaron Kemp of Cleveland, Ohio; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and other relatives including Georgia Kemp of Vicksburg; Jessie Kemp of St. Cloud, Minn.; and Carolyn Kemp and Alice Mary Kemp, both of Cleveland.

TOBE WEDDINGTON JR.

LORMAN Tobe Weddington Jr. died Saturday, May 26, 2001, at Claiborne County Hospital in Port Gibson. He was 56.

Born in Claiborne County, Mr. Weddington was a self-employed brick mason and a member of Waterloo Baptist Church in Lorman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tobe and Maliza Weddington Sr.; and a brother, George Lee Weddington.

He is survived by two sons, Christopher Weddington of Addison, Texas, and Tobe Weddington of St. Louis, Mo.; three daughters, Laura Weddington of Lorman and Nicole Weddington and LaToya Weddington, both of St. Louis; two brothers, Cicero Weddington and Clodia Lee Weddington, both of Middletown, N.Y.; three sisters, Willie Pearl Lacey of Vicksburg, Ruby C. Weddington of Lorman and Irine Weddington White of Cannonsburg; two grandchildren and other relatives.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Waterloo Baptist Church with the Rev. Leon Howard officiating. Burial will follow at the Weddington Family Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon until 6 p.m. Friday at Rollins Funeral Home in Fayette.
