CHARLES SIAS

Services for Charles Sias will be at 3 today at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home,

Mr. Sias died Wednesday, June 13, 2001, at Vicksburg Medical Center. He was 56.

Mr. Sias was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was formerly employed with International Paper. He attended Yazoo City Training Center and St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie D. and Lutheran Hudson Sias.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby Ferguson Sias; five daughters, Kim Ferguson Sias of Vicksburg and Christine Sias, Leslie Sias, Patricia Sias and Rachel Sias, all of Gerthesburg, Md.; three grandchildren; and other relatives, including Molier Hudson and Vivian Allen, both of Yazoo City, and Nathan Clemmons and Charles Clemmons, both of Memphis.

Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.

JULIA ANITA WATTS-TURNER

Julia Anita Watts-Turner died Thursday, June 14, 2001, at the Central Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. She was 57.

Mrs. Turner was a member, usher and secretary of the Rose Hill Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by a son, John Turner III; her father, Joseph Watts Sr.; a brother, Carl Watts; and a sister, Dorothy Mae Watts.

She is survived by her husband, John Turner Jr.; two sons, Reginald Byron Turner and Zikomo Turner of Lorman; a daughter, Jacinta Benita Turner of Lorman; her mother, Kazette Harris-Watts of Port Gibson; six brothers, Joseph Watts Jr., Thomas Watts, Chester Watts, Lionel Watts, and Mark Watts, all of Port Gibson, and Cleveland Watts of St. Louis, Mo.; two sisters, Thelma Wilson of St. Louis, and Geraldine Wilson of Chicago; and other relatives and friends.

Services for Mrs. Turner will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the East Mount Olive M.B. Church in Redlick, Miss., with Elder Walter Chambers officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Christian Church cemetery in Russum, Miss.

Visitation will be today from 1 until 6 with family hour from 8 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Port Gibson and Sunday from 1 p.m. until service time at the church.

ROGER H. MULTER

Roger H. Multer died Tuesday, June 12, 2001, at his home in McAlester, Okla. He was 61.

Mr. Multer, a former Vicksburg resident, received a Ph.D. from the University of Iowa and retired as a mathematician with the federal government after 30 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry D. Multer and Lois Skipton Multer.

He is survived by three daughters, Laurie Fischer of Wichita, Kan., Allyson Williams of Buena Vista, Va., and Callie Burton of Houston, Texas; one brother, Richard D. Multer of Seattle, Wash.; two sisters, Kay Dalton of Tucson, Ariz., and Joyce Jerke of LaSalle, Colo.; and seven grandchildren.

Services for Mr. Multer will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Chaney’s Funeral Home Chapel in McAlester, Okla.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
