DORTHEA NAFF

Dorthea “Dot” Naff died Friday, June 15, 2001, at the Olive Branch Senior Care Center in Tallulah. She was 88.

Mrs. Naff was born in Atkins, Ark., and reared in Sterlington, La. She graduated from Northeast Junior College of Louisiana State University. Mrs. Naff worked for the FBI, the Navy Department in San Francisco, the post office, and as a bookkeeper for Franklin Furniture in Tallulah.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Mack Naff; her parents, Annie and Scott Horton Sr.; and a sister, Vivian Billings.

She is survived by two brothers, L.B. “Brit” Horton and Robert Horton; and a sister, Gen Bagley.

Services for Mrs. Naff will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the chapel of the Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah with the Rev. Fred Fulton officiating. Burial will follow at Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah.

Visitation will be today from 5 until 7 at the Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church or Madison Chapter 94 of the Eastern Star.

CORDES E. WILLIAMSON

Cordes E. Williamson died Friday, June 15, 2001, in the Madison Parish Hospital. He was 81.

Mr. Williamson was born in Forest, La., and spent most of his life in Louisiana. He was a World War II Army veteran. He was a retired merchant and farmer and a member of the First Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday school for many years. He retired from the Police Jury after a tenure of 17 years. He was a former member of the Madison Parish Port Commission and an active member of the Fifth District Levee Board.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Westmoreland Williamson of Tallulah; four grandchildren, Sheri Brown Morgan of Tallulah, Christy Brown Humble of Monroe, La., Julie Brown McBroom of Tallulah, and Cindy Brown Hargrave of Tallulah; a sister, Bessie Lee Purvis of Transylvania, La.; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services for Mr. Williamson will be 3 p.m. Monday in the First Baptist Church of Tallulah with Rev. John Rushing officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 5 until 8 at the Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah.

Pallbearers will be Fred C. Morgan, Clay Morgan, Chad Morgan, James R. Brown, Wade Hargrave, Michael Todd McBroom, and Robert Q. Humble Jr.
