JIMMY JOHNS

CLARKSDALE Jimmy Johns died Friday, June 22, 2001, at St. Dominic Memorial Hospital. He was 81.

Mr. Johns lived most of his life in Clarksdale. He was a veteran of World War II. He operated Johns’ Sign Company in Clarksdale and Greenville before moving to Greenville.

He is survived by two daughters, Mary Martha Johns Ellis of Vicksburg and Athena Johns Zouboukos of Jackson; three sons, Tiff Namar Johns and Jimmy Addio Johns, both of Jackson, and John Lesebe Johns of Boston, Mass.; two sisters, Dell Johns Golladay of Memphis and Louise Johns Mitchum of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; seven grandchildren; and other relatives.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church in Clarksdale.

Visitation will be from 6 until 7:30 p.m. Sunday at National Funeral Home in Clarksdale.
