KIRK CRAIG

Kirk Craig died Saturday, June 23, 2001. He was 27.

Mr. Craig was a member of Triumph Baptist Church and a former employee of U.S. Rubber.

He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Craig.

He is survived by his wife, Regina Bland Craig; two sons, Kirk Jerome Craig Jr. and Tony Bland, both of Vicksburg; four daughters, Deakquwanita Bland, Keisha Bland, Teonica Bland and Regene Kelly, all of Vicksburg; his mother, Lena Craig of Vicksburg; two brothers, Samuel Craig Jr. and Robert Craig, both of Vicksburg; a sister, Teffee Craig of Vicksburg; friends and other relatives, including members of the White, Brown and Patterson families.

Williams Funeral Service has charge of arrangements.

ODESSA WARNER ROSS

PORT GIBSON Odessa Warner Ross died Saturday, June 23, 2001, at Natchez Community Hospital. She was 82.

Mrs. Ross operated Ross Grocery for more than 30 years with her husband. She was a member and mother of Second Baptist Church in Port Gibson. She was a member of the NAACP.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Olivia and Louis Warner; her husband, William Ross Jr.; a brother, C.B. Warner; and two sisters, Verla Barnes and Delilah Fletcher.

Survivors include a son, William Ross Jr. of Memphis; a sister, Nola Holmes of Vicksburg; a brother, Louis Warner Jr. of Port Gibson; five grandsons; three great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends, including Gwendolyn Ross of Memphis and Roger Fletcher of Springfield, Ohio.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Second Baptist Church of Port Gibson with the Rev. Leon Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Christian Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be 1 until 6 today at Thompson Funeral Home Inc. of Port Gibson and from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the service at the church.

GEORGE EDWARD RUCKER

PORT GIBSON George Edward Rucker died Monday, June 18, 2001, at Vicksburg Medical Center. He was 53.

Born in Port Gibson, Mr. Rucker was a member of the Port Gibson congregation of Jehovah’s Witness for 14 years. He was employed at Cooper Lighting.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Rucker.

He is survived by his wife, Lavern Rucker of Port Gibson; his daughter, Kimberly Ann Rucker of Port Gibson; his son, Derrick Turner of Buffalo, N.Y.; his mother, Francis G. Fleming of Port Gibson; two brothers, James Earl Fleming of Oakland, Calif., and Carl Ray Fleming of Port Gibson; five sisters, Earnestine Wilson, Mildred Linston, Hattie M. Smith, Linda Tarleton and Vivian Joyce Bobbit, all of Port Gibson; two grandchildren and other relatives, including Essie Durman of Vicksburg, Mary Washington of New Orleans, Vellie Moran of Port Gibson and Lonnie Mentor of Chicago.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Port Gibson High School with Percy Gusta officiating. Burial will follow at Crown Point Baptist Church Cemetery in Fayette.

Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. today at Thompson Funeral Home in Port Gibson.
