ELIZABETH GUERCIO
Elizabeth “Tina” Guercio died Tuesday, July 10, 2001, at Heritage House Nursing Home. She was 92.
Miss Guercio was born in Plaquemine, La. She graduated from Sacred Heart School in Hattiesburg in 1928. She was a communicant at St. Mary Basilica in Natchez until moving to Vicksburg in 1995.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Salvatore and Angela DiFrancesca Guercio; four brothers, James Guercio, Thomas Guercio, Joe Guercio and Jake Guercio.
Survivors include two sisters, Rose Cozzani of Vicksburg and Josephine Serio of Mobile, Ala.; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Services were at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Mary Basilica with the Rev. Mike O’Brien officiating. Burial followed at Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home of Natchez.
Pallbearers were Sammy Guercio, Rod Guercio, Tim Guercio, Trey Whittington, Allen Hoggatt and Charles Garrity.

SOLOMON HENDERSON
Solomon Henderson died Tuesday, July 10, 2001, at his home. He was 66.
A native of Vicksburg, Mr. Henderson was a barber. He was a member of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include a son, Solomon Henderson Jr. of California; two daughters, Sharon Henderson and Nadine Henderson, both of New Orleans; three sisters, Ethel Lewis of Vicksburg, Lula Mae Sims of Alton, Ill., and Birdette Green of Erie, Pa.; her brother, Loyd Henderson of Tampa, Fla.; grandchildren and other relatives.
Robbins Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
NIKI CASSINO LEWIS
Niki Cassino Lewis died Tuesday, July 10, 2001, at St. Dominic Memorial Hospital in Jackson. She was 51.
A native of Vicksburg, Mrs. Lewis was a graduate of St. Francis Xavier Academy and Hinds Junior College. She was a dispatcher for Entergy Corporation for more than 30 years. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank J. and Ruby Husbands Cassino.
Survivors include her husband, Howard Lewis of Vicksburg; her daughter, Christy Lewis of Vicksburg; her son, Howard Lewis Jr. of Vicksburg; three sisters, Sherrie McCaffrey and Donna Vinson, both of Vicksburg, and Tina Henson of Starkville; her brother, Frank Cassino Jr. of Panama City, Fla.; and other relatives.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas McGing officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home with wake at 7:30.
Pallbearers will be Michael Henson, John Rowland, Brian Cassino. Mark Rowland, Chris Fuller, Taylor King, Kelly McCaffrey and James Friley.
Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Henry, David Henry, Shawn Pittman and Michael Henry.
