WILLIE E. CARROLL JR.

PATTISON Willie E. Carroll Jr. died Tuesday, July 10, 2001, at Claiborne County Hospital. He was 73.

Mr. Carroll is survived by his wife, Sarah Lee Carroll of Pattison; his son, Robert Dowery of Columbus; his daughter, Margaret Frye of Pattison; three sisters, Annie Bell Carroll of Pattison, Olivia Bruce Hedrick and Beatrice Bruce Dowery, both of Chicago; a brother, Henry Bruce of Chicago; a grandson, John Frye Jr. of Pattison; two granddaughters, Delores Frye of Pattison and LaWanda Hall of Columbus; and other relatives.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Providence Christian Church in Pattison with the Rev. Freddie Harris officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home

Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home in Port Gibson and from 1 p.m. until the service Sunday at the church.

MARY LOU HOLLEY

TALLULAH Mary Lou Holley died Wednesday, July 11, 2001, at her home in Tallulah. She was 66.

Mrs. Holley was born in Kinder, La., and had lived and taught in Tallulah since 1964. She was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her husband, Hugh Phillip Holley of Tallulah; two sons, Hugh Phillip Holley Jr. of Tallulah and Scott F. Holley of Rayville; a brother, Freddy Rester of Kinder; one grandson, Cohron Scott Holley of Rayville; and nieces and nephews.

Services were at 10 a.m. Friday at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Wesley officiating. Burial followed at Silver Cross Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Billy Post, Mike Mason, Mike Magee, Leonard Rester, Ira Ervin and Kirby Fortenberry.

EVELYN F. SCOTT HOPKINS

DETROIT Evelyn F. Scott Hopkins died Wednesday, July 11, 2001, in Detroit. She was 74.

Mrs. Hopkins formerly lived in Vicksburg.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Scott; her father, Oscar Scott; three brothers, Robert Scott, George Scott and Eugene Scott; and her sister, Margaret Thomas.

Survivors include a son, Carl A. Scott Sr. of Korea; two daughters, Marilyn Stewart and Nina Momon of Detroit; her sister, Mamie Spellman of Vicksburg; and three brothers, Charles Scott and Eddie Scott, both of Vicksburg, and James Scott of New Orleans.
