LINDA ANN CRAPPS
HAZLEHURST Linda Ann Crapps died Tuesday, July 17, 2001, at her home in Hazlehurst. She was 54.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. P.L. Crapps; two brothers; and three sisters.
She is survived by a brother, Harold Lewis Crapps of Wesson; three nephews, Don Hynum of Port Gibson, Mike Hynum of Vicksburg and Tony Crapps of Florence; six nieces, Paula Jones and Patricia Bryant, both of Vicksburg, Anita Cliburn, Natalie Miller and Janet Broome, all of Wesson, and Lori Flinta of Florence.
Services were at 11 a.m. Thursday at Sardis Baptist Church. Burial followed at Sardis Cemetery with Stringer Funeral Home of Hazlehurst in charge.
DORIS FAYE EVANS
Doris Faye Evans died Monday, July 16, 2001. She was 41.
A Greenville native, Mrs. Evans had been a Vicksburg resident for three years. She worked as a nurse’s aide for Home Health Care.
She was preceded in death by a husband, Charles Wesley Hartsfield Sr., and her father, Buford “Red” White.
Survivors include her husband, Michael Glynn Evans of Vicksburg; one son, Charles Wesley Hartsfield Jr. of Houma, La.; three daughters, Mary Catherine Hartsfield of Houma, Karen Lynn Hartsfield of New Orleans and Joy Ann Hartsfield of Houston, Texas; her mother, Faye White of Hughes, Ark.; four brothers, four sisters; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas McGing officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Mike Byrd, Bo Joseph, Dale Wheeler, Jimmy Renfro and John Ransom.
GRACE M. FRANCO
Grace M. Franco died Monday, July 16, 2001, at the ParkView Regional Medical Center. She was 89.
Mrs. Franco as a lifelong resident of Vicksburg. She was a 1930 graduate of St. Francis Xavier Academy, where she was captain of the basketball team.
A homemaker, she was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church.
Mrs. Franco was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Rose Gioia Mondelli; three sisters; and a brother.
She is survived by her husband, John J. Franco of Vicksburg; a son, John J. Franco Jr. of San Antonio, Texas; a sister, Lucille Hossley of Vicksburg; a brother, Joe Mondelli Jr. of Florida; three grandchildren, John M. Franco and Catherine G. Alfaro, both of San Antonio, and Debra Newcomb of Jackson; one great-granddaughter, Julianne Alfaro of San Antonio; nieces; and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Michael Catholic Church with the Rev. James O’Riordan officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home with Rosary at 6:30 p.m.
Pallbearers will be John M. Franco, Raphael Franco Jr., Neil Newcomb, Sammy Franco, Jimmy Hossley and Joe Loviza.
Honorary pallbearers will be Raphael Franco, Paul Franco, Frank Vollor, Albert Antoine, “Pug” Franco, Earl Jenkins, Tom Pokrefke, Joe Franco, Louis Arnold and Chris Antoine.

PATSY WILSON HUNT
Services for Patsy Wilson Hunt will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Grove Street M. B. Church with the Rev. Casey Fisher officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery with Golden Gate Funeral Home of Dallas, Texas, in charge.
Visitation will be from 7 until 8 p.m. Friday at the church.
Mrs. Hunt died Sunday, July 15, 2001, at the South Dallas Nursing Home in Texas. She was 83.
She was born in Claiborne County and was a member of the Mount Zion Baptist Church. She moved to Vicksburg in 1947 and was a Sunday school teacher, Usher Board member and Mother Board member at Grove Street M.B. Church. She also served in the NAACP, Head Start and PTA and ran a day care in her home for working mothers.
Mrs. Hunt moved to Dallas in 1996.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Hunt; a son, Charles Hunt; her parents, Adeline and Joseph Wilson; and five siblings.
She is survived by two sons; Joseph Hunt of Gary, Ind., and John Hunt of Vicksburg; six daughters, Charlean Cooper of Forestville, Md., Edith Scott, Ca’Lannye Jackson, Eleanor Weddington and LaLetta Ruff, all of Dallas, Texas, and Katie Darris of St. Louis, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
