[07/30/01] A 2-over par by Brad Bradway was good enough to erase a one-stroke deficit and capture the Warren County Championship after a one-hole playoff Sunday at Clear Creek Golf Course.

Bradway and Paul Loyacono ended the second day tied with a 1-under 143 for the tournament.

On the playoff hole, Bradway birdied the par-5 first hole, while Loyacono had a par.

Loyacono entered Sunday’s final round trailing Bradway by three strokes. But his 71 the only under par score of the day coupled with Bradway’s 74 set up the playoff.

Mickey Ellis shot a 68 on the opening day, but struggled with a 4-over 76 on Sunday and earned third place.

Loyacono was the only player to shoot under par on Sunday. He had a 71, which earned him a second-place finish at 1-under par for the two-day event.

Ellis finished third at even par and Dave Kuchman took fourth with a 147 for 3-over.

Barry Hassell shot a 76 on Sunday to win the first flight, Bucky Buckner’s two-day 153 was good enough to win the second flight and Travis Ward and Kevin East tied for the third flight title at 156.

Noel Jackson bounced back from an 81 on the first day for a 75 on Sunday which gave him the fourth flight with Ron Moomaw and Jim Thurman.

Todd Brown won the fifth flight, Jeremiah Sweet took the sixth, Neal Lewis won the seventh and Don Muirhead won the eighth flight.

Defending champion Dale McDuff shot a two-day 154 and finished fourth in the second flight.
