[08/17/01] A pedestrian walking south on Hankinson Road was struck and killed by a Warren County man early this morning and the driver was jailed, Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said.
Around 2:45 a.m., Michael Edwards, 30, 660 Carlisle Road, was driving south on Hankinson Road, in south Warren County near Jeff Davis Road, when he struck the victim from behind, Pace said.
The victim’s name was not released because relatives had not been contacted, Pace said.
Edwards was charged with aggravated DUI, and the charges could be modified as the investigation continues by Chief of Detectives Jay McKenzie, Pace and deputies Brad Redditt and Jason Bailess, the sheriff said.
Edwards was in the Warren County Jail today.
