BENNIE ALLEN JEFFERSON

Bennie Allen Jefferson died Friday, Sept. 7, 2001, at ParkView Regional Medical Center. He was 61.

Mr. Jefferson was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church, a veteran of the Army and a retired mechanic for U.S. Rubber.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Major John Jefferson and Adelaide Reese Jefferson, two brothers and two sisters.

Mr. Jefferson is survived by a son, Allen Jefferson of Seattle; a daughter, Kimberly Jefferson of San Francisco; two sisters, Florice Brown of Tallahassee, Fla., and Catherine Jefferson of Vicksburg; three brothers, Larry Jefferson of Riverside, Mich., and Earl Jefferson and Carroll Gregory Jefferson, both of Jackson; and other relatives.

Robbins Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

DOROTHY NEAL

Dorothy Neal died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2001, at her home in Vicksburg. She was 54.

Mrs. Neal, a native of Hinds County, was a member of New Life Church and was employed as a housekeeper.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Neal; her parents, Lemar Lloyd and Geraldine Burse; and a sister, Linnie Lloyd Lenoir.

Mrs. Neal is survived by her daughter, Alisha Johnson of Vicksburg; four sisters, Lillie Lloyd, Shirley Lloyd and Helen Mace, all of Vicksburg, and Lacey Burse of Aurora, Il.; three brothers, Curtis Lloyd and Percy Lloyd, both of Vicksburg, and Lamar Lloyd of Chicago; her grandmother, Alberta Burse of Clinton; and other relatives.

Robbins Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

VIRGINIA LEE BARON WRIGHT

Services for Virginia Lee Baron Wright will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home with the Rev. Bryan Ivey, pastor of Highland Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Yokena Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 until 5 this afternoon at the funeral home.

Mrs. Wright died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2001, at Vicksburg Medical Center. She was 82.

A native of Augusta, Ga., she had lived in Vicksburg since 1945. She was a member of the Crepe Myrtle Home Demonstration Club, a 4-H Club worker, a former Girl Scout leader and a member of Highland Baptist Church.

Mrs. Wright was preceded in death by her parents, Abram and Berta Lee Rubenstein Baron, and her husband, John B. Wright Sr., who died in 1994.

She is survived by three daughters, Karen Ann Emerson of Claiborne County, Laura Irene Morgan of Puyallup, Wash., and Diana Lynne Jones of Highland Village, Texas; one son, John Benjamin Wright Jr. of Vicksburg; one sister, Lois Baron Stewart of Columbus, Ga.; one brother, Isdor Rubenstein Baron of Tullahoma, Tenn.; caregiver, Gay Weaver of Vicksburg; 10 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Carl W. Emerson, John Carl Emerson, Steve Taylor, Chuck Jones, Graham Jones, Patrick Matous, Craig Morgan, Robert Newman, all grandsons and sons-in-law.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Tomlin, Annie Pearl Dykes, Judge Weaver, Nell Gill, Hubert Stroud, Dr. George Abraham, Ethel Hollowell and Gary Jones.
