ERMA LEE CARRENDER

TALLULAH Erma Lee “Jo” Carrender died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2001, at Madison Parish Hospital. She was 70.

Mrs. Carrender was born in Madison Parish and was a veteran of the Air Force. She was a nurse and secretary for Civil Service. She was a member of Parkview Baptist Church.

Mrs. Carrender was preceded in death by a brother, James E. “Sonny” Jobe; and a sister, Melba Jean Jobe.

She is survived by a daughter, Jimmie Lee Folk of Tifton, Ga.; three brothers, Ray Jobe, Tommy Jobe and Robert “Rabbit” Jobe, all of Tallulah; five sisters, Katheleen Marshall, Jimmie Wilhite and Nellie Simmons, all of Tallulah, and Marie Castle and Linda Vines, both of Vicksburg; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.

Services for Mrs. Carrender will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home chapel in Tallulah with the Rev. Cletus Moak officiating. Burial will follow at Silver Cross Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be John Toney, Mike Moore, Jerry Lee Standfield, Joe Jobe, Bernie Jobe and Harold “Sonny” Bolton.

NANCY MARY BOWEN FAIR

Services for Nancy Mary Bowen Fair were at 2 p.m. Friday at the Church of the Holy Trinity, Episcopal, with the Rev. Michael Nation officiating. Burial followed at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Fisher-Riles Funeral Home.

Mrs. Fair died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2001, at Shady Lawn Nursing Home. She was 80.

Born in New Orleans, Mrs. Fair was the daughter of the late Susie Mary Mackey Bowen of Vicksburg and the late Gwynn Garland Bowen of Jackson. She attended Sophie B. Wright High School and Southern Business College.

She and her husband, Mark Lee Fair of Miami, moved to Sommerville, Tenn., where they owned and operated the Fair Movie Theatre. They later moved to Memphis.

After her husband’s death, Mrs. Fair worked for 20 years at Southern Bowling Lanes in Crosstown. She was involved in a number of women’s groups and charities.

Mrs. Fair moved to Vicksburg in 1960.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Lee Fair; a daughter, Ann Celine Harrison; and an aunt, Emma Mackey Schlottman.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Dorothy Harrison of New Orleans; eight grandchildren, John Harrison and Paul Harrison, both of Jackson, Andrew Harrison and Mark Harrison, both of Vicksburg, Nancy Jones of Bolton, David Harrison of Lobutcher, Allie Barr of Glen Allan and Mary Ann Guimbellot of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; 24 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

LIDDIE DALE McCULLOUGH

Services for Liddie Dale McCullough were at 11 a.m. today at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Brumfield officiating.

Burial followed at Green Acres Cemetery.

Mrs. McCullough died Friday, Sept. 21, 2001, at ParkView Regional Medical Center. She was 76.

Mrs. McCullough was a native of Philadelphia, Miss., and was a resident of Vicksburg since 1952.

Mrs. McCullough was employed with Tuminello’s Restaurant for 22 years and a member of Goodrum Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Leslie Mae Nicholson Williams; her husband, Percy B. McCullough Sr.; a granddaughter, Myranda Sue Lawrence; a sister, Lula Mae Smith; and a brother, James E. Williams.

Mrs. McCullough is survived by three sons, Percy B. McCullough, Robert J. McCullough and Stanley E. McCullough, all of Vicksburg; three daughters, Linda D. McHann and Shirlene Skipper, both of Vicksburg, and Lola D. Lawrence of Utica; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, J.W. Williams and Buddy Williams, both of Canton; and two sisters, Vera Harris and Verdie Myers, both of Canton.

Pallbearers were Robert McDaniel, Daniel Shiers, Travis McCullough, Ronny McDaniel, Jerry Lawrence Jr., Johusa McCullough, Harry Uzzle, Wayne McCullough and Mike Lowery.
