[10/02/01]The body of an unidentified man was pulled from the water of the entrance channel to the E.W. Haining Industrial Center this morning.

Sgt. Doug King of the Vicksburg Police Department said a man working on a harbor dredge had been reported missing after falling from the vessel late Friday or early Saturday, but the body could not be identified until it was examined by Warren County Deputy Coroner Larry Chisley.

The body was spotted floating in the channel this morning and retrieved by Vicksburg Police and Vicksburg Fire Department officers about 9:30 a.m.

Chisley said he would examine the body today.

“We’ll do that as soon as we get him to the (Fisher-Riles) funeral home,” Chisley said.

He said he would schedule an autopsy at Mississippi Mortuary Services in Pearl tonight.
