KENNETH WAYNE MEACHAM SR.

Kenneth Wayne Meacham Sr. died Monday, Oct. 8, 2001, at ParkView Regional Medical Center. He was 81.

Mr. Meacham was a lifelong resident of Vicksburg. He was the son of the late William Matthew and Jennie Kemper Meacham. He was a graduate of the Military School on the Gulf Coast and attended George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He served in the Marines during World War II at Guadalcanal.

He worked for R.G. LeTourneau for a number of years and then went to work for the Postal Service where he retired in 1985 as a rural mail carrier. He also worked with the Meals on Wheels program.

He was a member of Crawford Street United Methodist Church,

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Merle Rogers and Jeannette Middlebrooks; and two brothers, Kemper Meacham and Ty Meacham.

He is survived by his wife, Lillian Cooke Foster Meacham of Vicksburg; two sons, Kenneth W. Meacham Jr. of Brookhaven and Mark Meacham of Fort Davis, Texas; two daughters, Maudelle Martin of Jackson and Helen Falb of Tallahassee, Fla.; two sisters, Valera Vollor and Maude Wilson, both of Vicksburg; and six grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home with the Rev. Geoffery Joyner, pastor of Crawford Street United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Jay Meacham, Tom Wilson, Frank Vollor, Kemper Meacham, Tim Vollor, Nathan Falb and Alex Falb.

Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Tuccio, Johnny Nosser and Johnny Flowers.
