EDDIE LEWIS JR.

PORT GIBSON Eddie Lewis Jr. died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2001, at ParkView Regional Medical Center. He was 90.

Mr. Lewis retired from B.C. Crum Logging Company, Port Gibson Oil Works and Port Gibson Veneer and Box Company. He was a member of Magnolia Baptist Church in Port Gibson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leatta Moore-Lewis and Eddie Lewis Sr.; three brothers, Roosevelt Lewis, Fred Lewis and M.H. Lewis; and two sisters, Ida Bell Lewis Hedrick and Geneva Lewis King.

Survivors include his wife, Lillie G. Lewis of Port Gibson; four daughters, Shirley Lewis of Port Gibson, Ella Lewis Selmon of Vicksburg, Jessie Lewis of Battle Creek, Mich., and Flora Lewis Gilliam of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sons, Charles Lewis and Vernon Lewis of Port Gibson; and 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Thompson Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.

ELIZABETH B. MATHESON

ROLLING FORK Elizabeth B. Matheson died Monday, Oct. 22, 2001, at Heritage House Nursing Home. She was 80.

A native of Prosperity, S.C., Mrs. Matheson had lived in Rolling Fork for the past 27 years. She taught school for many years and was a social worker. She was a member of the Chapel of the Cross Episcopal Church.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Matheson of Rolling Fork; her son, John K. Matheson of Williston, N.D.; and her daughter, Marie Jennings of Litchfield, Conn.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Chapel of the Cross Episcopal Church with the Rev. Julia Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Mound Cemetery under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service Friday at the church.

Pallbearers will be Zachary Alchner, Robert Clements, Donald Harris, Randy Hengst, Dr. Danny Jackson, William Moore II and Clark Seory.

DONALD L. ROLAND

Donald L. Roland died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2001, at Vicksburg Medical Center. He was 72.

Mr. Roland was born in Franklin County and retired as a millwright from International Paper Co. after 40 years of service. He was a Mason.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ella Mae Hutto Roland.

He is survived by his wife, Anne Roland of Vicksburg; a daughter, Susan Jones of Mobile, Ala.; two stepdaughters, Brenda Ellis of Huntington, W.Va., and Leslie Keith of Braden, Fla.; one stepson, Austin Ball of Washington, D.C.; and seven grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Hopewell Baptist Church in Bude with the Rev. Carl Mason officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon until 1:30 p.m. Friday at Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville.

Pallbearers will be J.D. Magee, Gary Buckels, Melvin Adams, James Martin, Charlie Ezell and Kirby Carlock.
