JAMES EDWARD DOTSON SR.

LORMAN James Edward Dotson Sr. died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2001, at his home in Lorman. He was 66.

Born in Jefferson County, Mr. Dotson was a retired electrician. He was a member of Morningstar M.B. Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hayes and Estella Dotson; five brothers, Zack Dotson, Hardy Shorts, Louis Shorts, Brown Dotson and Hayes Dotson Jr.; four sisters, Gladys M. Green, Mary Patten, Beulah Shorts and Deatter Stamps.

Survivors include his wife, Johnnie Ruth Clark Dotson of Lorman; two sons, Joe Clark and James Dotson Jr., both of Port Gibson; four daughters, Virginia Dotson, Brenda Chambers and Terrie Anderson, all of Port Gibson, and Mary Dotson of Lorman; two brothers, Willie Shorts of Port Gibson and Ledon Dotson of Lorman; three sisters, Ollie Adams of Crosby, Bertha Dotson of Port Gibson and Irene Brown of Vicksburg; and 12 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and other relatives.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Morningstar M.B. Church in Russum with the Rev. Larry Clark officiating. Burial will follow at McCaa Cemetery in Russum.

Visitation will be from noon until 6 p.m. today at Rollins Funeral Home in Port Gibson.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Clark Jr., Thomas Goods, Eddie Dotson, Mack S. Thomas, Albert Wilson, Aaron Patton, Percy Short and Leon Shorts.

Honorary pallbearers will be James Dotson Jr., Joe Clark, Michael Chambers Sr., Antonio Anderson and Darrell King.
