Services for Jimmie Mae Lax were today at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Tipton officiating. Burial followed at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Lax died Friday, Nov. 23, 2001, at ParkView Regional Medical Center. She was 89.

She was born in Houston, Miss., and had lived in Vicksburg since 1953. She was a member of First United Pentecostal Church of Vicksburg.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Lax; and four sons, Donald Tinnin, Bob Tinnin, Harold Tinnin and Norman Tinnin.

She is survived by two daughters, Jeanette Smith and Charlene Lax, both of Vicksburg.

Pallbearers were Bobby Harris, Paul Tinnin, Gene Tinnin, James Yarber, Paul Bowling and Dale Bagwell.

Honorary pallbearers were Bobby Bagwell, Dustin Tinnin, Chris Tinnin, Donald Lee Tinnin, Ola McCoy, Mabel Peterson, Dr. Paul Pierce and staff, nurses of the second floor at Vicksburg Medical Center and the nurses of the fifth floor at ParkView Regional Medical Center.

HOSEA NETTLES

BROOKHAVEN Hosea Nettles died Saturday, Nov. 24, 20001, at his home in Brookhaven. He was 81.

Born in Franklin County, Mr. Nettles was employed with Brookhaven Creamery for 19 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion and the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pollie and Carrie Myers Nettles; and a granddaughter, Stacie Nettles.

He is survived by his wife, Margie Pepper Nettles of Brookhaven; his son, Ricky Nettles of Brookhaven; hi daughter, Judy Case of Brookhaven; three sisters, Lucille Vaughn of Mooreville, Lena Pearl Ford of Ridgeland and Faye Carter of Rolling Fork; and three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services were today at Brookhaven Funeral Home. Burial followed at Easthaven Cemetery.

DOROTHY LaJUNE WILLIAMS WILTCHER

Dorothy LaJune Williams Wiltcher died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001, at St. Dominic Medical Center. She was 62.

A native and lifelong resident of Warren County, Mrs. Wiltcher was a 1957 graduate of Culkin High School. She was employed as the city manager with H&R Block Company for more than 21 years and was a self-employed accountant for 14 years. She was a member of Bowmar Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Nettie D. and Thomas Hopkins.

She is survived by her husband, James E. Wiltcher of Vicksburg; three daughters, Lynnette Smith and Kim Butler, both of Vicksburg, and Angel Lowe of Olive Branch; two sons, Edward A “Buddy” Wiltcher and Kyle Tullos, both of Conyers, Ga.; her father and stepmother, Orville L. and Lela Williams of Waynesboro; a sister, Ruth Lowery of Perkinson; eight grandchildren, one great-grandson and other relatives.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home with the Revs. Terry White and Carl Barnes officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Albert Smith Jr., Rudy Davis, Cory Smith, John David Sessums, Leroy Sanders, Rudy Pettway, James Davis and James H. Rogers.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Tom Mitchell, Martin Pace, Dr. Joe Ross, Bobby Bazzel, Dr. Jefferson Fletcher, John Bezzeard, Dr. R.M. Evans, Richard Marble and the Culkin High School class of 1957.
