SAMUEL GALEN COLLINS

CLINTON Samuel Galen Collins, infant son of Bill and Sandy Collins of Clinton, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2001, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center.

In addition to his parents, Samuel is survived by his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Green of Vicksburg; and his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Collins of Vicksburg.

LOUISE ANNIE FAULKNER

TALLULAH Louise Annie Faulkner died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2001, at North Monroe Hospital. She was 65.

Born in Winnsboro, Mrs. Faulkner had lived in Tallulah all of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Parkview Baptist Church in Tallulah.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud Faulkner; her father, William Lisonbee; her mother, Josephine Sullivan; two sisters, Vallie Coody and Jeri McCulloug.

Survivors include three sons, Clarence Edward “Shorty” Faulkner of Vicksburg, David A. Faulkner of Delta, and Jimmy W. Faulkner of Tallulah; two brothers, Bennie Lisonbee of Laurel and Johnnie Lisonbee of Bakers, Fla.; seven sisters, Rosalie Butler of Swartz, La., Marie Ray of Bastrop, Verda Still and Bobbie Vining, both of Tallulah, Betty Diggs of Vicksburg, Mary Ann Wilmore of Las Vegas and Billie Creed of Monroe.

Services will be at 11 a.m. at Silver Cross Cemetery with the Rev. Charles Gaston officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home of Tallulah.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Randy Lisonbee, Matt Coody, Robert Coody, Andy Vining, Byran Vining and Wesley Butler.

Honorary pallbearer will be Louis Cox.

HENRY GREEN

Henry Green died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2001, at his home in Vicksburg. He was 63.

Mr. Green was a member of Rose Hill Christian Church in Lorman and formerly employed as a grain elevator operator with Spiegel of Chicago.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Annie Lee Green.

He is survived by Katie Nailor of Vicksburg; five brothers, Paul Green Jr., Arthur Green and Matthew Green, all of Port Gibson, and Frank Green and Lawrence Green, both of Chicago; six sisters, Dorothy Johnson and Pauline Major, both of Vicksburg, Juline Green and Barbara Buck, both of Port Gibson, Deloris Wells of Lorman and Angela Hampton of Orlando, Fla., and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Williams Funeral Service had charge of the arrangements.

BETTY JEAN WARNOCK HOXIE

RICHARDSON, Texas Betty Jean Warnock Hoxie died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2001, in Richardson, Texas. She was 71.

A former resident of Memphis, Mrs. Hoxie had lived in Richardson for the past several years.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gordon D. Hoxie; her parents, Jack and Mary Warnock; and two brothers, Henry Ernest and Frank Warnock, all of Vicksburg.

Survivors include three sons, Gordon David Hoxie and Glenn Daniel Hoxie, both of Memphis, and George Donald Hoxie Sr. of Richardson; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild and other relatives including the Hoxie, Warnock and Burroughs families, all of Vicksburg.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Memphis Memory Gardens. Burial will follow under the direction of Memphis Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.

DAN LUCAS

JACKSON Dan Lucas died Friday, Nov. 22, 2001, at Mississippi State Hospital in Jackson. He was 86.

Mr. Lucas was a member of Holly Grove M.B. Church and was a former employee of the City of Vicksburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Will Lucas Sr. and Annie Turner; two brothers, Will Lucas Jr. and David Lucas, and a sister, Ethel Woods.

He is survived by two brothers, George Lucas of Port Gibson and S.T. Lucas of Chicago; a sister, Katie Turner of Milwaukee; a host of nephews, nieces and other relatives including Eunice Brown of Vicksburg and Lenore Cameron of Jackson.

William Funeral Service has charge of the arrangements.

MELLO WILSON McCOY

Mello Wilson McCoy died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2001, at her home. She was 78.

Mrs. McCoy was a retired cook with Mr. C’s restaurant. She was a member of Traveler’s Rest M.B. Church where she was a member of the usher and mission ministry. She was a member of St. Mary’s Chapter No.1 O.E.S.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William McCoy Sr.; a son, Jerry McCoy; her parents, Buddy and Katie Jones Wilson; two brothers, Wilbert Jones and Leon Jones; and five sisters.

Survivors include four sons, William McCoy Jr. and the Rev. Terry McCoy, both of Dallas, Texas, and Michael T. McCoy Sr. and Mark A. McCoy, both of Vicksburg; two daughters, Donna K. Burnham of Dallas and Debora D. Coleman of Vicksburg; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and other relatives.
