LOUISE HUNTER MILLER

Louise Hunter Miller died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, at ParkView Regional Medical Center. She was 70.

Born in Bovina, Mrs. Miller attended the Southern Christian Institute in Edwards. She was a member and church secretary at New Hope M.B. Church in Bovina.

She worked as a waitress for the Hotel Vicksburg, Woolworth’s, Duff Green, Delta Point and Ameristar Casino until her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Shelby and Donnie Hunter; three brothers, Willie Hunter, James Hunter and V.P. Hunter; and one sister, Viola Hunter.

Survivors include her husband, Richard E. Miller Sr. of Vicksburg; three sons, Richard E. Miller Jr. of Pensacola, Fla., Gerald C. Miller of Vicksburg and Michael W. Miller of Edwards; two daughters, Renetta Thomas of Edwards and Donna K. Moore of Vicksburg; a sister, Mary Miller of Vicksburg; six grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and friends and other relatives, including Bessie Walton of Bovina and Dorothy Hollins and Cora Floyd, both of Vicksburg.

Williams Funeral Service has charge of arrangements.

MERTHA WATKINS

Mertha Watkins died Monday, Nov. 26, 2001, at Vicksburg Convalescent Home. She was 88.

A native of Louisiana, Mrs. Watkins had lived in Vicksburg for the past 55 years. She and her late husband owned and operated a family grocery store in the Culkin community.

Survivors include five nieces and six nephews including Henry Fletcher of Seguin, Texas.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Glenwood Funeral Home.
