WILLIAM W. JACKSON SR.

DAPHNE, Ala. William W. Jackson Sr. died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2001, in Daphne, Ala. He was 47.

Born in Hermanville, Mr. Jackson had lived in Alabama for more than 18 years. He was a 1972 graduate of Port Gibson High School. He was an employee with the City of Daphne Street Department.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Lee “Bob” Heath and Dan Oscar Jackson; and two aunts, Rosie Lee Jackson and Emma Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Valerie R. Jackson of Daphne; five sons, Alvin Flowers of Fort Hood, Texas, William Jackson Jr. and Tyrone Hicks, both of Hermanville, and Jordan Jackson and Paul Rodgers Jackson, both of Daphne; a stepdaughter, Aundrya Williams of Mobile, Ala.; his parents, James Willie Jackson and Lizzie Mae Jackson, both of Hermanville; five sisters, Doretha Rankin and Louis Graham, both of Port Gibson, Irene Rhodes and Pearl Williams, both of Chicago, and Mary Jackson of Hermanville; four brothers, Sylvester Jackson and James Jackson, both of Hermanville, and David Jackson and John Henry Jackson, both of Chicago; seven grandchildren and other relatives.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at First Christian Baptist Church with Pastor Anthony Gordon officiating, Burial will follow at Hermanville Cemetery. Christian Benevolent Funeral Home of Mobile has charge of the arrangements.
