MARGARET R. BARLAND
PORT GIBSON Margaret R. Barland died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2001, at ParkView Regional Medical Center. She was 82.
A native of Ovett, Mrs. Barland lived in Port Gibson most of her life. She owned and operated City Cafe in Port Gibson. She was a member of Port Gibson Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death her husband, Bernard Barland; and two grandchildren, Shawn Clyburn and Jennifer Beaube.
She is survived by two daughters, Juanita Watson and Katie Howard, both of Port Gibson; three sisters, Zettie Johnson, Frances Harris and Tobe Wolak, all of Ovett; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Glenwood Funeral home in Port Gibson. Burial will follow at Wintergreen Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Watson, Wayne Mitchell, Danny Bagwell, Rocky Howard, Mott Roland Headley, Ron Pratt and Henry Channell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. David Headley, Dr. Paul Pierce and Alex Batton
BLACKMON R. HARRIED
Blackmon R. “B.R.” Harried died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2001, at his home. He was 73.
Mr. Harried retired from Waterways Experiment Station. he was a member of Rock of Ages Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gus Harried; his son, Blackman R. Harried Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Laura Marie James Harried; four daughters, Diana Harried Hoskins and Edith Washington, both of Vicksburg, Sandra Harried Linson and Betty H. green, both of Jackson; 11 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and other relatives including the Harried and Reed families of Fayette, the Darden and Naylor families of Vicksburg, Daryl Hunter and Rhonda Hunter, both of Keansaw, Ga., and Phyllis H. Thomas of Dophine, Ala.
Williams Funeral Service has charge of the arrangements.
