ETHEL CRONE

PORT GIBSON Ethel Crone died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2001, at Claiborne County Nursing Center in Port Gibson. She was 100.

A former Vicksburg resident, Mrs. Crone was a member of Pleasant Green M.B. Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Crone; one brother, William Allen Jr.; and four sisters, Kizzie Allison, Jessie Bell Bradley, Willie Mae Giles and Elnora Jones.

She is survived by two brothers, George Allen of Akron, Ohio, and Robert Lee Allen of Port Gibson; four sisters, Corrine Bell of Cleveland, Ohio, Katie Mae Edding of Los Angeles, Bertha Brown of Akron and Alberta Brinner of Port Gibson; and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends, including Annie Pearl Willis of Port Gibson and Ben Johnson of Vicksburg.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pleasant Green M.B. Church. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

FANNIE LEE BOYD DAVENPORT

Fannie Lee Boyd Davenport died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2001, at ParkView Regional Medical Center. She was 71.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Willie B. Boyd, and five brothers, Alfred Boyd, George Boyd, Narvel Boyd, James Boyd and Chester Boyd.

She is survived by four sons, Willie Boyd, Johnny Davenport, Larry Davenport and George Young, all of Vicksburg; one daughter, Gloria Jordan of New York; three brothers, Johnny Boyd, Aubrey Boyd and Arthur Boyd; nieces; nephews; and cousins and other relatives, including members of the Taylor and Watson families of Vicksburg.

W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

J.D. EASLEY

LUCEDALE J.D. Easley died Monday, Dec. 24, 2001, at Silver Crest Nursing Home. He was 80.

A native of George County, Mr. Easley was a resident of Lucedale. He was a truck driver and a World War II Army veteran. He was a member of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his son, Jimmy Easley of Lucedale; his daughter, Andra Easley Bonelli of Vicksburg; two sisters, Faye Gordon and Mary Evelyn Polson, both of Lucedale; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services were Tuesday at Sigler Funeral Home in Lucedale with Tim Arrington officiating. Burial followed at Magnolia Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Randy Polson, Kenneth Davis, Mike Fryfogle, Hank Peacock Jr., Lonnie Williams and Chris Williams.

JOHN L. HUBBARD JR.

EDWARDS John L. Hubbard Jr. died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2001, at his home in Edwards. He was 72.

A native of Utica, Mr. Hubbard had lived in Edwards for 60 years.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy O. Hubbard of Edwards; four sons, John J. Hubbard III of Summit, Peter S. Hubbard of Raymond, Patrick O. Hubbard of Pocahontas and Timothy J. Hubbard of Edwards; his daughter, Jackie H. Allen of Meridian; his sister, Rona H. Askew of Edwards; and 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at noon Friday at Edwards Cemetery. Burial will follow under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be the grandsons and nephews.

JOSEPH JACKSON JENKINS

Services for Joseph Jackson Jenkins will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Jenkins died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2001, at his home. He was 64.

Mr. Jenkins was retired from the Information Technology Laboratory at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Waterways Experiment Station. He was a veteran of the Air Force.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Libby Kay Jenkins, and his father, George Jenkins.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Gaines Jenkins of Vicksburg; four daughters, Denise M. Jenkins of Dallas, Sharon L. Jenkins of Daly City, Calif., and Avis J. Jenkins and Winnie Jenkins, both of Vicksburg; his mother, Mary S. Jenkins of Vicksburg; two grandchildren, Shareena Ellis and Joseph Brown, both of Vicksburg; and one great-grandchild and other relatives, including Arlee Smith of Vicksburg and Myrtle Heard of Pittsburgh, Pa.
