ELSON FORD DICKERSON

CLEVELAND Services for Elson Ford Dickerson were Thursday at Thweatt-King Funeral Home in Cleveland. Burial was at New Cleveland Cemetery.

Mr. Dickerson died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2001, at his home in Cleveland. He was 77.

Mr. Dickerson retired from Entergy’s Delta Electric Steam Station after 35 years of service. He was born in New Hebron and graduated from New Hebron High School. He served in the Navy in World War II.

He was a member of First Baptist Church and Balcony Sunday school class. He was a 32nd degree Mason and former member of the Cleveland Noon Lions Club.

Mr. Dickerson was preceded in death by a daughter, Ann Dickerson Bradberry, and his parents, Thomas Hutchins Dickerson and Annie Laura Dickerson.

Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Holmes Dickerson of Cleveland; a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Judy Dickerson of Vicksburg; and five grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Cleveland or to Community Hospice Care.

McKINLEY MOORE JR.

Services for McKinley “Cowboy” Moore Jr. will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Evergreen M.B. Church on Floweree Road with the Rev. Frank Gardner Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 until 7 tonight at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home, and also from 12 p.m. Sunday at Evergreen M.B. Church until the hour of service.

Mr. Moore died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2001, at his home in Redwood. He was 56.

A mechanic, Mr. Moore was a member of Evergreen M.B. Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, McKinley Moore Sr. and Effie Mae Moore, and a brother, Leon Moore.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Miller Moore of Redwood; four sons, McKinley Moore III and Corey Moore, both of Jackson, Rodney Moore of Stone Mountain, Ga., and Terrence Moore of Lithonia, Ga.; one daughter, Audrey Moore Sylvester of Vicksburg; two brothers, John Walker Moore and Eddie Moore, both of Detroit; four sisters, Dorothy Gaskin and Della Thompson, both of Detroit, and Doretha Williams and Deloris Williams, both of Milwaukee, Wis.; nieces; nephews; and 10 grandchildren.

CHARLES SCOTT SR.

Services for Charles “Hot Cat” Scott Sr. will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Clover Valley M.B. Church. Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home.

Mr. Scott died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2001, at ParkView Regional Medical Center. He was 82.

He retired as a pipefitter from Bendiz Corp. in Kansas City, Mo. He was a veteran of the Army, serving in World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Tyner-Ford Post 213 and a deacon at Clover Valley M.B. Church.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Scott of Vicksburg; three sons, Charles Scott Jr. of Minneapolis, Minn., Timothy Scott of Los Angeles and Robert Scott of Vicksburg; two daughters, Margaret McDonald of Minneapolis and Trina Scott of Vicksburg; one brother, Frank Scott of Vicksburg; one sister, Ruth Cottingham of Cape May, N.J.; and grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives, including Sheery Taylor of Atlanta.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Sunday until the service.

Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
