JULIUS CLARK JR.
Julius Clark Jr. died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2002, at ParkView Regional Medical Center. He was 75.
Mr. Clark was preceded in death by his parents, Julius Clark Sr. and Georgia Ann Green.
Survivors include his son, Spencer Scott of Compton, Calif.; his sister, Ethel Elmore of Vicksburg; three grandchildren; and other relatives.
W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
ANNIE MAE DAVENPORT
EGNATION DAVENPORT
Services for husband and wife Annie Mae and Egnation Davenport will be at noon Saturday at New Vision Family Worship Center with the Rev. Rick McAlister officiating. Burial will follow at Hollywood Cemetery in Fayette.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at Williams Funeral Service.
Mr. and Mrs. Davenport died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2001, at their home. Both were 52.
Mrs. Davenport was a nurse with Private Home Care. Mr. Davenport was a retired Army veteran. They were members of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Davenport was preceded in death by her parents, Zenader and Herman Hayes; her sister, Lula Mae Granton; and two brothers, C.J. Hunter and Albert Limson.
Mr. Davenport was preceded in death by his parents, E.G. and Jessie Davenport.
They are survived by six daughters, Ada Dorsey of Texas and Dominie Hayes Reynolds, Levader Bland Lyons, Alonda Calvin, Amanda Hargrove and Beverly Britton, all of Vicksburg; one son, Levi Bland of Vicksburg; his sister, Marie Davenport of Germany; her three brothers, Leroy Hayes of Bronx, N.Y., J.C. “Bro” Hayes of Vicksburg and J.P. Hayes of Dayton, Ohio; 17 grandchildren; and other relatives including Deverett “Pig” Hayes of Vicksburg.

BESSIE JOHNSON
PORT GIBSON Bessie Johnson died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2002, at her home. She was 62.
Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, Dewitt Johnson; a son, Paul B. Johnson; her parents, Eli and Pearlena Flowers; a grandson, Kari Flowers; three sisters, Ruby Nell Flowers, Silas Simms and Leona Goodman; and two brothers, David Flowers and Ernest Flowers.
Survivors include seven sons, David Flowers, Elvie Johnson and Abraham Johnson, all of Port Gibson, Henry Lee Johnson and Edwin Johnson, both of Jackson, Glendale Johnson of Vero Beach, Fla., and Robert Flowers of Lorman; seven daughters, Earline Johnson, Mattie Johnson, Hattie Johnson, Nina Johnson, Vera Flowers and Nerline Johnson, all of Port Gibson, and Eldora Johnson of Lorman; two sisters, Jessie Mae Brown of Jackson and April Womack of Fayette; and 49 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and other relatives.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mount Olive Baptist church in Copiah County with the Rev. James Carter officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. today at Thompson Funeral Home in Port Gibson and from noon until the service Saturday at the church.
IRENE ARENDER PIPER
TALLULAH Irene Arender Piper died Monday, Dec. 31, 2001, at Madison Parish Hospital. She was 84.
Born in Magee, Mrs. Piper lived in Benton, Ark., for 20 years before moving to Tallulah five years ago. She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Beth Reinhart of Las Cruces, N.M., and Ann Piper of Berkeley, Calif.; two brothers, Billy Ray Arender and Donald Wayne Arender, both of Tallulah; two sisters, Ulma Clement of Transylvania and Shirley Baker of Wiggins; and a grandson, Toby Stewart of Berkeley.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah with the Rev. John Rushing officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Hopkins, Alan Williamson, Dalton Fortenberry, Ray Jobe, George McDonald and LaBane Clement.
LILLIE MAE SMITH RUSHING
Lillie Mae Smith Rushing died today, Jan. 4, 2002, at Vicksburg Medical Center. She was 95.
A native of Jefferson County, Mrs. Rushing had lived in Vicksburg for a number of years. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elisha Henry Rushing; a son, Douglas Kenneth Rushing; and two daughters, Lucy June Webb and Melanie Fae Ratcliff.
She is survived by her daughter, Elaine R. Smith of Clinton; five sons, Elisha Henry Rushing Jr. of McComb, Gregg Wood Rushing of St. Louis, Mo., Thomas Wicker Rushing, Emmette Leroy Rushing and Joe Dan Rushing, all of Vicksburg; and grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home with Elder Darren Owens officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. at Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery in Red Lick.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.
Grandsons will be pallbearers.
