LUCILLE M. HOSSLEY

Lucille M. Hossley died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2002, at Heritage House Nursing Home. She was 93.

A lifelong resident of Vicksburg, Mrs. Hossley was a graduate of St. Francis Xavier Academy. She was a homemaker and member of St. Paul Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry H. Hossley Jr.; four sisters; and two brothers.

She is survived by two sons, James Hossley of Vicksburg and Joseph Hossley of Mobile, Ala.; one brother, Joseph Mondelli of Melbourne, Fla.; eight grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Catholic Church with Monsignor Joseph Koury officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Tuesday until the service at Glenwood Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Hossley, Michael Piazza Jr., Dr. W. Bruce Shingleton, Richard Hossley, Robert Hossley, Adam Hossley, J. Charles Riles and Albert Hossley.

PAULINE HOWELL OAKES

WEST, Miss. Pauline Howell Oakes died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2002, at her home in West, Miss. She was 75.

Mrs. Oakes, a homemaker, was a member of Springdale Baptist Church and the Stonestreet-Rone VFW Post No. 1983 Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Smith Oakes, and a son, Gerry Hansford.

She is survived by a daughter, Trudy Hansford Gunter of Vicksburg; four sons, Terry Hansford of Kosciusko, Arnie Oakes and Ronald Oakes, both of Batesville, and Shannon Oakes of Plano, Texas; two sisters, Maureen Edwards of Kosciusko and Rebecca McBride of Vaiden; one brother, O.H. Howell of Picayune; and 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Jordan Funeral Home in Kosciusko. Burial will follow at Brister Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Springdale Baptist Church Building Fund.

AUGUSTINE N. SHELLEY

Augustine N. Shelley died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2002, at ParkView Regional Medical Center. She was 62.

A retired nurse, Mrs. Shelley was a member of Bethlehem M.B. Church. She was also a member of Paramount Social and Civic Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Junior Nailor and Willie B. Parker.

Survivors include her husband, Clyde Shelley Sr.; two sons, Clyde Shelley Jr. of Little Rock, Ark., and Joe Nathan Shelley of Birmingham, Ala.; one daughter, Kimberly Shelley of Vicksburg; two sisters, Mattie Carter of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Josephine Walton of Vicksburg; three grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

Services will be at noon Saturday at Bethlehem M.B. Church. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

EMMA LOUISE MONK TRIM

PORT GIBSON Emma Louise Monk Trim died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2002, at Claiborne County Hospital. She was 79.

Born in Simpson County, Mrs. Trim worked as a press operator and an inspector at the American Paper Tube for a number of years. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Vicksburg.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Trim Sr.; a grandson, Charles Williams; and a son-in-law, Claude Charrier.

She is survived by four daughters, Dorothy Landrum of Laurel, Ida Perkins of Vicksburg, Jean Williams of Smithdale and Joyce Charrier of Sheridan, Ark.; three sons, Henry Trim Jr. and Jerry Trim, both of Port Gibson, and Wayne Trim of Vicksburg; and 17 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Glenwood Funeral Home in Port Gibson. Burial will follow at Hermanville Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 today until the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be grandsons: Chuck Charrier, Chuck Smith, James Hunt, Michael Hunt, Johnny Lopez, David Trim, Steve Trim and Steve Harper.

Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin West, Bill Freeman, Kim Easterly, Paul Brown, Ricky Trim and Albert Trim.

ALMETA C. WALLACE

Almeta C. Wallace died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2002, at Vicksburg Medical Center. She was 79.

A former resident of Dermott, Ark., Mrs. Wallace had lived in Vicksburg for four years. She retired as a teacher from the Arkansas Public Schools. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and St. Paul M.B. Church in Dermott.

She was preceded in death by a son, L.C. Wallace; her parents, the Rev. Elvis Gordon and Pearl Gordon; two sisters and two brothers.

Survivors include a sister, Gevordia Thrower of Bearden, Ark.; four grandchildren, including Shirley Bowman Sanders of Vicksburg; and seven great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and other relatives.
