TENA COLEMAN

CARLISLE Services for Tena Coleman will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Port Gibson.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at Williams Funeral Service in Port Gibson.

Mrs. Coleman died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2002, at ParkView Regional Medical Center. She was 83.

A lifelong resident of Carlisle, Mrs. Coleman was a family health worker and homemaker. She was a member of St. Luke M.B. Church in Carlisle.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Booker Coleman; her parents, Melissa and Earnest Mobley; a son, Leon Coleman; and sisters and brothers.

Survivors include six sons, Richard Coleman and Eugene Coleman, both of Chicago, Booker Coleman and Earnest Coleman, both of Port Gibson, Chester Coleman of Broadview, Ill., and Henry Coleman; three daughters, Dorothy Claiborne of Port Gibson, Melissa Coleman of Jackson and Mary Coleman of Country Club, Ill.; 18 grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and other relatives, including Pearl Hilton of Chicago, Ollie “Topsy” Bland and Pearl Mobley, both of Port Gibson, and Robbie Coleman of Fayette.

RUTH ROGAN GRAMMER

TALLULAH Ruth Rogan Grammer died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002, in DeSoto, Mo. She was 70.

Mrs. Grammer was born in Tallulah and had lived in DeSoto for a number of years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Wheeles Rogan; a sister, Irene Rogan Jones; and a brother, James Edward Rogan.

She is survived by two daughters, Pamela Thebau of Cadet, Mo., and Cynthia Donaldson of LaDue, Mo.; a son, Gregory Shiadek of Tallulah; a sister, Faye Rogan Lane of Baton Rouge; four brothers, Gerald Irby Rogan of Baton Rouge and George Wheeles Rogan Jr., Lloyd William Rogan Sr. and John Eugene Rogan, all of Tallulah.

Services will be at Silver Cross Cemetery in the Rogan family plot with the Rev. Bill Echols officiating.

Memorials may be made to the Silver Cross Cemetery.

MARY F. JORDAN

TUPELO Mary F. Jordan died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002, at North Mississippi Medical Center. She was 71.

Mrs. Jordan was born to the late Elmer and Mable Froman and was reared in Vicksburg. She had lived in Tupelo since 1972.

A homemaker, she was a member of Chesterville Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Billy Jordan of Tupelo; a daughter, Janet Riggan of Smithville; a son, Bill Jordan of Tupelo; two sisters, Shirley Pearson of Louisiana and Patsy Clements of Pearl; two brothers, E.D. Froman of Pearl and Doyle Froman of Vicksburg; and four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at W.E. Peagues Jefferson Street Chapel in Tupelo with the Rev. Jim Varnon officiating. Burial will follow at Young Memorial Gardens in Smithville.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Riggan, John Conrad, L.M. “Nob” Peek, Bill Boyles, Ralph Goodson and Tommy Free.

ETHEL McGREW

TALLULA, Miss. Services for Ethel McGrew will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Church of God of Prophecy with the Rev. Darrell Cook officiating. Burial will follow at County Line Cemetery in Glen Allan.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at Glenwood Funeral Home in Rolling Fork.

Mrs. McGrew died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. She was 78.

Mrs. McGrew had lived most of her life in Tallula, Miss. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Tallula.

She is survived by three sons, Bobby McGrew of Rolling Fork, Tommy McGrew of Greenville and Earl McGrew of California; three daughters, Linda Ingram of Tallula, Pat Oswalt of Biloxi and Ethel Taylor of Tallulah, La.; two sisters, Earline Rybolt of Clarksdale and Dot Knot of Marks; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

EUNICE MARIE PRIESTLY SMITH

Services for Eunice Marie Priestly Smith will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Bright Morning Star M.B. Church. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be Saturday at Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home.

Mrs. Smith died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002, at her home. She was 71.

Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Smith, and her parents, Otis and Almeda Priestly.

She is survived by five daughters, Dorothy Smith, Almeda Smith, Parlee Brown, Katie Brown and Diane Smith, all of Vicksburg; four sons, Leonard Smith Jr., Robert Smith, Otis Smith and Bernard Smith, all of Vicksburg; and 17 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and other relatives.

CHARLIE TURNER

HERMANVILLE Services for Charlie Turner will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church in Port Gibson. Burial will follow at Turner’s Cemetery in Hermanville.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Saturday at Williams Funeral Service in Port Gibson.

Mr. Turner died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002, at Claiborne County Hospital. He was 77.

Mr. Turner was a member of First Christian Church in Hermanville and was retired from Farmers Co-op.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Fannie Turner; two brothers, Evans Turner and Zack Turner; three sisters, Lillie Mae Turnipseed, Mary L. Hampton and Gladys Windom; a daughter, Clara Turner; a son, Ira Turner; and a grandson, Robert Turner Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Mae Eulice Turner of Hermanville; eight sons, Carl Thompson of Chicago, Willie Turner of Vicksburg, Keith Beasley of Pattison, Huron Turner of Port Gibson and Albert Turner Sr., Elbert Turner, Robert Turner Sr. and Charlie Turner Jr., all of Hermanville; two daughters, Estella McKenzie of Vicksburg and Mildred Hedrick of Pattison; two brothers, Horace Turner of Pattison and Louis Ruffin of Chicago; four sisters, Liza Ann Turner and Lucille Reeder, both of Hermanville, and Johnnie McKay and Inez Washington, both of Pattison; and grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
