VERA JEAN GROSS

Vera Jean Gross died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2002, at Vicksburg Medical Center. She was 44.

Miss Gross was preceded in death by her father, Harrison Gross; her grandparents, Jessie and Olivia Blunt; and he stepfather, Benjamin Jones Sr.

She is survived by her mother, Alice H. Jones of Vicksburg; eight brothers, Capt. David L. Hubbard, Robert L. Hubbard Sr., Willie Gross and Cedrick Hubbard Sr., all of Vicksburg, Christopher C. Williams of Chicago, Larry Hubbard Sr. of Memphis, Benny L. Hubbard Sr. of Flowood and Anthony T. Hubbard of Atlanta; four sisters, Lillian Porter, Linda Wildee and Tommie Hubbard, all of Vicksburg, and Artemease Bailey of Gardena, Calif.; nieces; nephews; and other relatives including Johnny Green of Vicksburg.

Williams Funeral Service has charge of the arrangements.

CHARLES HUBBARD

UTICA Charles Hubbard died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2002, at his home. He was 85.

Mr. Hubbard was a native and lifelong resident of Utica. He was the founder of Hubbard Butane Company. He was a cattleman and owner of several businesses.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Hintson Hubbard.

He is survived by two daughters, Martha Hubbard Partridge of Jackson and Beverly Hubbard McGuffee of Utica; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Wright & Ferguson Funeral home in Raymond. Burial will be at Utica City Cemetery.

Visitation will be 1 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Mississippi School for the Blind.

RUBY KEITH WHITE

Ruby Keith White died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2002, at her daughter’s home in Brandon. She was 82.

Born in Mathis, Mrs. White had lived in Anguilla for the last 56 years. She retired in 1968 as a school teacher for the Anguilla Line Consolidated School Systems. She was a member of the Anguilla First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tucker White.

She is survived by three daughters, Ruby Doris Woodruff of Yazoo City, Elizabeth White Brown of Brandon and Mary Ann White of Winston-Salem, N.C.; her sister, Wilma Keith McDonald of Anguilla; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Anguilla First Baptist Church with the Revs. Billy Stevens, James Milner and Reese Kyzar officiating. Burial will follow at Golden Link Cemetery in Anguilla.

Visitation will be from 2 until 5 p.m. Sunday at Glenwood Funeral Home in Rolling Fork.

Pallbearers will be Chuck Janes, Leighton Janes, Paul Brown, Russell Stewart, Glen Diffey, Charles Keever, Smitty Hargrave and Bill Hodnett.
