ERLINE NECK DUCOTE

HESSMER, La. Erline Neck Ducote died Friday, Jan. 18, 2002, at the Hessmer Nursing Home in Hessmer, La. She was 85.

Mrs. Ducote was a native of Marksville, La., and a resident of Hessmer where she was a public school teacher for 40 years and a member of St. Alphonsus Ladies Altar Society.

Mrs. Ducote was preceded in death by her husband, Roy J. Ducote; and her parents, Victor and Annette Neck.

She is survived by two daughters, Anna Christine Patin of Vicksburg and Jeanne Marie Griffin of Wilmington, N.C.; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Cathedral in Marksville with the Rev. Jim Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Mausoleum No. 1.

Visitation is today from 5 until 8 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. until the hour of the service at Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Marksville.

St. Alphonsus Ladies Altar Society will say the Rosary at 6 tonight at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Vicksburg Catholic School.

MARGARET B. VAN FOSSEN

MONROE Margaret B. Van Fossen died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2002, at North Monroe Hospital. She was 82.

Mrs. Van Fossen was a former resident of Vicksburg where she was a communicant of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church. She was a member of the Evergreen Garden Club.

Mrs. Van Fossen was the co-owner of The Columns bed and breakfast and a member of the Republican Women and River City Business & Professional Women organizations.

Mrs. Van Fossen was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Lee Van Fossen; her parents, Elmer and Hattie Aline Bagbey; and three brothers, James Harvey Bagbey, Elmer Brooks Bagbey Jr. and Thomas Miller Bagbey.

She is survived by two daughters, Thomasene Van Fossen Christman of Kingwood, Texas, and Margharita Van Fossen Davis of Vicksburg; a brother, Joe Bagbey of Lake Providence; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Lake Providence City Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Echols officiating.

Visitation will be at Cox Funeral Home in Lake Providence Monday until the hour of the service.

Pallbearers will be Mrs. Van Fossen’s grandsons.

HELEN LUCKETT

UTICA Helen Luckett died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2002, at Vicksburg Medical Center. She was 76.

Mrs. Luckett was a native of Arkansas and lived in St. Joseph before moving to the Utica area 35 years ago.

She was a member of Utica Baptist Church where she was a member of the Sunday school class. Mrs. Luckett also was a member of the Better Living Home Demonstration Club and 4-H clubs and the Hinds County Home Extension Service.

She was preceded in death by her husband, P.W. “Jack” Luckett; and a brother, Dawson Galloway.

Mrs. Luckett is survived by a son, Mike Luckett of Utica; a daughter, Diann Brown of Utica; a brother, Art Galloway of Jackson; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Cayuga Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service at Glenwood Funeral Home in Utica.

Pallbearers will be Jake Hutchins II, Jake Hutchins III, Doug Dotson and Steven Hutchins.
