Memorial services for Justin L. Cook will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Hancell Bankester officiating.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the service Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Cook died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, at ParkView Regional Medical Center. He was 28.

Born in Vicksburg, he attended Warren Central High School. He was a veteran of the Navy. He was employed with the Army Corps of Engineers Mat Sinking Unit and Skipper Construction Company. He was a member of the Methodist faith.

He is survived by his wife, LaDonna Jones Cook of Vicksburg; three sons, Brandon Mabe, Dillon Mabe and Evan Cook, all of Vicksburg; his mother, Ann Kyrola of Jackson; his father, Larry Cook of Vicksburg; his brother, Ryan Cook of Vicksburg; and his paternal grandmother, Nina Cook of Carthage.

ANTHONY GLEN EVANS

Anthony Glen Evans died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002. He was 35.

Mr. Evans is survived by his son, Anthony Lewis of Vicksburg; his daughter, Telisa Anderson of Vicksburg; his mother, Velma L. Evans of Vicksburg; his father, Johnnie Lee Truly of California; two brothers, Larry Evans of Dallas, Texas, and Tony Evans of Vicksburg; two sisters, Barbara Jean Evans of Vicksburg and Carman Brinkley of Dallas; his maternal great-grandmother, Carolyn Evans of Vicksburg; and other relatives including Bobbie Gibbs of Vicksburg and Terry Evans of Englewood, Calif.

W.H. Jefferson has charge of the arrangements.

LOIS LYMAN LEIPPER

UPLAND, CALIF. Lois Lyman Leipper died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, in Upland, Calif. She was 80.

A former resident of Vicksburg, Mrs. Leipper had lived in Upland for the last three years. She was a graduate of the University of Illinois. She was a newspaper editor and wrote a newspaper column for the Clarendon Hills Doings in Illinois. She had also lived in Tennessee where she worked with the Girl Scouts of America.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Kenneth Leipper; her parents; and a sister.

She is survived by two sons, James K. Leipper of Upland and John Elliot Leipper of Encinitas, Calif.; her daughter, Melinda McAllister Delgado of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Westminster Presbyterian church with the Rev. John Allen officiating.

MARY McCRANEY

FAYETTE Mary McCraney died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2002, at Jefferson County Hospital in Fayette. She was 70.

A homemaker, Mrs. McCraney was a member of Hollywood Baptist Church in Fayette.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank McCraney; her parents, Monroe Jackson and Etta Harried Jackson; and 13 siblings.

She is survived by two brothers, Wendell Jackson of Chicago and Tom Willie Jackson of Fayette; her sister, Corrie Lee Chiplin of Vicksburg; and other relatives, including Etta Hudson, Virgie Edwards, Emma Wyatt and Eva Rankin, all of Fayette.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hollywood M.B. Church in Fayette with the Rev. Dr. E.E. Colenburg officiating. Burial will follow at Hollywood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 until 7 p.m. today at Rollins Funeral Home in Fayette.

RUTH ELIZABETH WILLIAMS

EDWARDS Services for Ruth Elizabeth Williams will be at 1 p.m. today at Edwards United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lynette Little officiating. Burial will follow at Edwards Cemetery under the direction of Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Williams died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, at ParkView Regional Medical Center. She was 86.

A native of Sweden, she had lived in Edwards since 1945. She was a retired certified nurse assistant at Hinds General Hospital in Jackson. She was a member of Edwards United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Williams.

She is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Krueger of Vicksburg; three sons, Eric K. Williams of Pearl, Peter Williams of Edwards and Stefan Williams of Clinton; and two granddaughters, Lisa K. Morton of Marlton, N.J., and Alison K. Rouse of Montgomery, Ala.

Pallbearers will be Otto Logue, R.A. Logue, M.L. Atkins, J.H. Collier, Jimmy Cox, Marvin Cox, Chris Harvey and Chad Harvey.

Honorary pallbearers will be John Black Sr., Scott Rouse, Vince Morton and Dr. Daniel Edney.
