Amy Dixon, 5, right, peeks through her Mardi Gras mask as her mother, Glenda Dixon, and classmate Elizabeth Counts look on after participating in the Mardi Gras mask workshop at the Southern Cultural Heritage Complex Monday. After making the masks from glitter, feathers, beads and coins, children were served king cake. The first annual Mardi Gras parade will be Saturday at 2 p.m., beginning at the Warren County-Vicksburg Public Library on Veto Street and ending at the Biscuit Company at 1100 Washington St.(The Vicksburg Post/MELANIE DUNCAN)
